With SLI2 you should be able to goup any two GPUās like crossfire without sacrifising performence(Like 6600 + 6800 with 6800 using all 16 pipes)ā¦
SLI2 should support Quad SLI(four GPUās togather like connecting dual ASUS 7800GTXās cards x 2)ā¦

Its very much possible, for current generation cards 4 lanes of PCIE bandwith wont be a bottlneck hence it is theoritically possible to have 4 cards in SLI.
BTW whas the big issue of Crossfire, ATI has screwed it up but then again less 1% sales comprises of multi GPU systems, which I feel is personally a wasteā¦ We all know a single 7800 GTX is better then 2*6800 ultra in most apps, its always gonna be the caseā¦
Thats coz of the CPU bottleneck. If we had a CPU good enough like the Upcoming FX-59, Dual Core 2.6-2.8 Ghz system, whcih MAY be able to reduce the bottleneck to nil.
Two 7800 GTXās with a proccessor which holds its own, will own. Only then will it not be a waste.
Right now, 2 * 7800 or 6800 even, is a Waste!
