AVIVO Video Converter Problem

Hey.. I’m on this config :-

AMD Phenom II 720 BE
2 GB DDR2 RAM
Samsung 1 TB HDD
XFX 4870 1 GB GDDR5
Biostar TA 790GX BE

Now, when I try to convert a video for my iPod using Avivo Converter, it says “Unsupported File Format” for AVI, MKV etc etc.. Only MPG works.. Its a real shame that I can’t make good use of 800 Stream Processors in this card..

Please help..

Are there codecs available for download? Even I’m a little … with the unsupported codecs!!

Pretty fast converter

and sadly you cant use other formats on avivo while badaboom has options for many formats.

True, Avivo is quite restricted regarding input formats.

Found a solution to the problem

Just follow these steps :-

  1. Download Shark007 codecs relevant to your OS architecture from here.

  2. After installing it right click on configuration settings & then change the settings of codecs from Microsoft’s to ffdshow. You can find that in the Start-menu shortcut.

  3. Disable** Media Foundation** wherever found, it is the primary culprit.

  4. That’s it you’re done.

5, 64-bit users need to download Shark 007’s 64-bit components too & then modify it according to Step-2. Download it from here.

I tried these steps and 95% of the files were decoded by AVIVO then. Works wonderfully.

Actually, the problem was with Microsoft, they unified all the codecs into Media Foundation which they introduced in Windows 7. AVIVO did a wonderful job in Windows XP. But it stuck in Windows 7.

Using this video converter I was getting constant FPS over 400 and at one point it touched 1000fps while converting videos..
