Belkin power Strips how good are they?

hey guys i am planning to invest in a nice surge protection for my pc peripherals the surge protector needs to protect my logitech x530 5.1 speakers and my airtel modem :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

my monitor and the computer is connected to apc 550 RS back ups so i needn’t worry about it

i was thinking of buying belkin so how good are their surge protectors ?

also which model should i buy

Belkins are pretty good. You could check the following:

8 switch model or

Gold series

Haven’t used one but users hold a pretty good opinion on the build quality and performance of their surge protectors. However, I recall an instance wherein one of the members of the forum reported that the Neutral and Live terminals were interchanged inside the surge protector thereby resulting in some earthing issues.

I am using 2 surge protectors from MX and have had no issues by far.

I bought 1 from MX and 1 from Belkin at the same time. Belkin is still working as new. In MX the pin slots have become loose resulting in sparks, loose contacts and LED lights flickering. Ofcourse Belkin is priced higher hence the quality. btw these were bought approx 2.5 years back

my budget is restricted to 700rs so which model do you think i should go for ? remeber all i need to protect is my airtel modem and my X-530 5.1 speakers :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

check out belkin’s insurance policy.

That would surely favour belkin…

Belkins are good but problem is one switch will work for all plugs.

If you plan to use only 2 plugs, other 2 devices are also powered on for no use.

MX is good as they have individual plug with individual switches.

hmmm so finally which one should i get belkin or mx :face_with_tongue:

Check the voltage range it operates between, I think it must be quite narrow.

ok guys did a little snooping in ritchie street the 6 socket model cost around 550 and the 3 socket model costs around 325 should i go for it the premium one can be had at 1300rs so which one should i go for ??

I suppose sine you will be connecting only 2 devices, even 3 socket one would be fine.

Any Belkin Model with individual switches for each socket. All I can find is single switch to on/off for all sockets.

what do you mean?

the economy series carries no insurance on equipment while the superior series offers rs.50,000 insurance. That should cover your logitech speakers and modem in case the worst happens.
