Best Desktop Search

Hi Guys,

What is the best desktop search nowdays..?
I was using Avafind for all the while but it seems to taking too much time nowdays after my HDD capacity have reached close to 1TB…guess it was not designed to handled that much loads..

I haven’t heard good things about Google Dektop Search and Windows Desktop Search earlier…have they improved now?
I’ve also tried coppernicus earlier but wasn’t impressed…I would prefer something with clean and non-flashy interface…

Regards,

What OS do you use..? I use the default windows search that is imtegrated in Vista and 7, and am very comfortable and satisfied with it.

sorry forgot to mention…windows xp..

I use Locate32

Launchy FTW

Copernic Desktop

Copernic , Google Desktop , Yahoo Search use GB’s of space for indexing the HDDs which is a total waste i would say and the indexing speed sux on it.

I tired them but reverted back to Launchy.

Launchy is good , just select the folders and specify the extentions which you want to search in those folders , the indexing speed is also good.

There is also nDroid but i have stopped using it as it was crashing or had issues with my PC.

Then there is SlickRun or something which is more of app launcher.

AvaFind is one of the fastest indexing app i have seen till date and uses very less space for the index data , it can scan GBs of HDD space in minutes , its paid but.

2 current best for me is Avafind and Launchy 2.

Thats All
