Wait for about 3 months, maybe then theyll surface here.
I doubt it’ll come to india in the near future and even if it does it’ll come at prices like 50 grand for the drive and 1-2k for media. Seriously not worth it for another few years imo.

i think blue ray disc are suitable only for commercial purpose bcoz its very expensive. i read somewhere that movies on blue ray disc will be much more of high quality as compared to dvds, afterall it has capacity abt 25gb single layer and 50 gb dual layer.
also hitachi has launched it blueray disc player for multimedia purpose. recently sony has launched its blueray disc player for car audio/video systems.but would be really costly now abt .8 to 1.25 lakh high end.
but world is standing on hopes which never dies, wait for some time and it will be available in local market soon with affordable price and i will be the one of customer among others.
today i saw the ad in times of india of sony viao laptop with blu ray drive.
the price was not mentioned but must be costing a huge bomb.

I think in the us the laptop costs $2999, so it’ll be a lot more here. Close to 2 lakhs possibly
