Brand New 5TB WD My Passport Ultra External Hard Disk For Sale with 3 Years Official Warranty

Looking to sell brand new WD My Passport Ultra 5TB External Hard disk.
Includes

  1. Original Box
  2. Type C Cable
  3. USB Adapter
  4. User Manual

The Story:

I have been using a similar drive for some time and recently a software that analyses disk health showed a slight issue. Since the drive was under warranty period, I contacted WD and Created an RMA and got the drive replaced with this brand new one.

I no longer need a 5TB drive because I am no longer hoarding huge data, so I thought of selling this new drive which is under full warranty.
Box is opened just to take pictures and show Disk info for reference.
Price is Non-Negotiable. Shipping fee is included.
Find the attached images for reference and proof.

Might reconsider pricing or wait until the sale is over. My Passport 5TB is available for 9.6k on Flipkart. Ultra is available for 11.9k on Amazon. I have both in my cart, waiting for my salary

Hi, thanks for the response.I believe you are referring to My Passport. The item on sale here is My Passport Ultra, which is slightly higher priced than the former.

Edit: Sorry, I see that you mentioned the same. Didn’t catch that first

Main differences

  • Port and cables

    • My Passport 5TB: USB 3.2 Gen 1 micro‑B port, usually ships with a USB‑A cable.

    • My Passport Ultra 5TB: USB‑C port (USB 3.2 Gen 1), typically ships with a USB‑C cable and often a USB‑C↔A adapter.

  • Build and design

    • My Passport: Plastic shell, lighter and a bit thinner.

    • Ultra: Metal‑accented top with a more premium finish, slightly larger/heavier; often better desk grip.

  • Performance

    • Both use 2.5‑inch 5,400‑rpm class SMR drives; real‑world sequential speeds are broadly similar, but Ultra enclosures often benchmark a bit higher thanks to newer bridge/firmware.

Update: Pricing updated to INR 11000, after considering Amazon and Flipkart sale discounts including cards.

Did WD ask for bill/invoice during replacement?

And did you buy an extended warranty with the OG drive? If not, how come this unit has 1 month more warranty than a new drive (3yrs)?

No Bill or Invoice was required during replacement. I have created the RMA through their portal and got it approved after a few minutes. I handed over the old drive to the nearest collection point. Got a call from the courier after a week, and got this new drive as replacement.

Upon reaching back home, I tried checking the warranty of the disk on the portal so that I can put this up for sale as soon as possible but did not return any result. Raised a ticket stating the same, and got the response today saying that full warranty of 3 years is available on the drive.
To double check, I went to the portal and tried checking it manually, and confirmed it. The screenshot you see is of that.

If anyone wants to see the screenshot of emails, I can provide them without any trouble.

Thanks for the info. I recently tried to RMA a NAS drive and they asked for invoice (which I do not have), even though the WD website clearly says it’s in warranty till 2026. Hard luck ig.

Did you yourself create the RMA or did you email the support to create RMA for you?
I did it myself on their portal.

I contacted support using chat. Their customer portal wasn’t working. The support then created a RMA request and demanded invoice along with serial number to proceed further.

But it’s fine, it was WD Blue in raid 1 config. Wasn’t meant to be used 24x7 in the first place.
