Buying iphone $300 (budget) from usa

I am planning to buy Iphone somewhere under the budget of $300 from USA through my relative.

I dont mind if its used but I understand they can be locked with US telephone companies.

Which Iphone I should look for within that budget? and what should be the criteria to buy an Iphone that will work in India?

Kindly share your knowledge.

You can get iPhone 14 around that budget from refurb sites like backmarket, they give 1 yr warranty, not that it will work in India, but atleast your relative can check and return if there are any issues..

If you wish to go the safest route, get a refurbished device directly from apple, but that would cost more..

If its not extremely urgent and your relative is visiting India during year end, I’d say wait for black friday, by then iPhone 17 series would be out and will probably be able to get 15 around your budget..

Also as for criteria, afaik the only criteria is that the device should be unlocked

Also do note apple devices sold in the us are esim only, if that matters to you

Cheers!

Firstly thanks for explaining.

Now I have very low budget and my relatives are only there for 10 days.

They move to middle East and then Travel to India year end.

So it’s long wait.

i would definitely want something that works worldwide and not locked with only USA sim.

Otherwise it’s not use getting from there.

And I cannot go beyond $300 so very tight.

Kindly share if you find any good deal.

$99 mein Iphone 14…I will even order one for Our domestic Helper.

jokes aside..If I am understanding this deal correctly. This is locked to USA SIM right.
Bhai How is this going to work in India?

You have to pay for 3 months, and after that it gets unlocked. As you have relatives in us, they can give you a better idea how this works.

You just need an unlocked device..

Refurbished device from backmarket is probably your best bet.. unlocked iPhone 14 128 gb is listed for $327, but you can find $25 coupons online, which brings the price down, but still tax would be added, so it would cost approx 5-10% over that..

https://www.backmarket.com/en-us/p/iphone-14

If you wish to go for the pro series, you need to go 13 pro, its listed for 350, but then again 25 usd coupon brings the price down to 325..

Do you have any contacts in middle east? If they know how stuff works there, coz apparently amazon uae has some deals as well..

See this is listed for 380 usd incl tax, its 256gigs instead of 128.. but idk how stuff works there.. If returns are easy or not..

Guys ,
thanks
Especially @KshitijChoudhry and @chetansha

I decided to keep my Iphone purchase on hold now as it is something I can still get it down the line when budget is better but I should take this opportunity to buy a mountaineering boots from USA.

Early Jan I have another cousin going to USA …so will try to save up for new iphone then and ask here for help.

Appreciate all the help.

@KshitijChoudhry ..I forgot to reply about your suggestion on buying from Middle east.
. Middle East part is mostly Israel where my relatives are working . They do travel to Dubai occasionally but for tourism and that remains uncertain.

otherwise Israel is very expensive for electronics. Infact for everything.
In early days of their travel I asked them to check some equipment and electronics price in Israel. Everything was way more expensive even more than India .

Only one place they said is cheap in Israel that was some tax free zone like in USA they have states with no tax.
I forget the name of the place but it was some beach tourist place( I think Eliat something)

and they prefer other countries for tourism instead of going to that place.

Good Luck!

Ohh okay! Maybe usa it is then
