Yes. Put the motherboard on a nonconductive surface like wood, and you are good to go. You’ll need something for the GPU if it’s too heavy.

The motherboard box is your test bench.

Board is green , GPU is red , the yellow opening recesses is where your GPU io bracket goes into for a little support.

Test run but in a dust-free clean room. I have ran my rig for months without a cabinet.

Congrats on getting a gaming PC. Assemble the PC and install a game and tell us.

Ah to be young and optimistic again, what I wouldn’t do.

Congratulations!

I was running mine on top of the antistatic pouch for testing some time back, when i did not have a cabinet.

Yes, you can.

Should you?

No i don’t recommend it. Only run it to test components.

Keep it away from your siblings, parents, kids, pets, your neighbor etc Do not put your fingers or head in it while running.

Jokes aside only do it if you really need to. Remember to use non conductive surface for mb. A careless mistake can cost you.

Yes you can like all said.

But very very bad idea.

This is like buying a fighter jet without ejection seat.

what do you mean you need a case? If you ready to loose a part surely(in this price madness era).If you know what you are doing then yes do test all your parts before it goes into the PC.

Test run is possibile, my setup was test run for a couple of days till i got a case. To check if everything i got is working fine or not. So this is only recommended for testing or temporary use.

You can run a PC without a cabinet, but for a very short period of time. Wouldnt recommend longer than an hour.

Why though ?
