I am unable to play online games over my broadband i.e. HFCL Connect broadband. I mostly play DOTA on garena client and it gives “Reconnection problem every 5 mins”. So i am frustrated over this. So i have decided to opt for 3G. Is 3G is successful on playing Online Games. Please help me in decide.

No. As much as they advertise 3G, DOTA needs a very stable connection to complete a match. Wireless connections are not recommended for gaming, let alone 3G. Get a good wired connection if you want to play DOTA. Same for CS.
Well, can’t say for sure but most wireless connections have really high ping. I would strongly recommend that you find out the ping of the 3G connection, you want to get, in your area before anything else. And the ping should be atleast 250 or less.
ping is bad, I mean you yourself wont have a good experience if your ping is >125ms. And Wireless gives 200+ ping
Can you play, probably yes.
Will you be competitive, no.
I’ve played DotA with no troubles via wifi, pings were always <125
I thing WiFi and 3G are totally different. WiFi adds very little latency but 3G is all about latency. I think the OP should look for options in wired connection around his place.
Wifi is totally different dude. 3G means a sim and all.

I’ve seen airtel 3g with pings <100.But that wont be enough because losses are very high for wireless connections.i saw a guy with 3g in cs who lagged unbearably inspite of his ping being less than 100.

No. I Think Jitter is the deviation in ping, and Loss means the up and down of packets.
By wireless I meant the Internet connection being wireless. I have Tata Indicom WiMax, which is wireless. I can play CS, BC2, Crysis 2 without any major hiccups (sad pings, but playable), but no joy in DOTA. Warcraft III is very sensitive to packet losses I guess.
no…im talking about the losses and choke in cs
i play only BFBC2 and crysis 2 on my photon i get ping 150-250 . Still i get highest kill on crysis 2 when hackers are not playing
