Can windows xp be installed from vista

Well i m having a problem due to some conflict of dvd rom i m unable to instal windows mce 2005…so i installed windows xp64 and from within that installed vista 64 ultimate edition…

Now problem is that windows xp 64 looks a lot corrupted…

1::Quick launch bar after setting all stuff still doesnt appear(have checked all registery settings all okk but it never comes)…

2:  oftware like avg and others refuse to run giving error not 64 bit edition but they get install on vista and run without any error

3::Internet explorer is corrupted..downloaded Ie7 ..but even it gives error and say to restart…

in short want to remove win xp 64 and install the 32 bit edition bak…but problem is how do i???

cant do from win xp64 and vista…also told due to dvd rom conflict…after booting from dvd …in middle it stops detecting dvd rom giving all errors…so what do i do…

so any help for this stuff

No

Its better to do a clean install after having so many problems.

Even i had this problem, but it was solved when i changed the drive to primary ide from secondary ide and also i reversed the cable, don’t know what happened by doing like this, but it solved my problem

For 2,3 ,how can you excpect a 32 bit application to run properly on 64 bit OS .

What Error is it giving ?
Problem may be with the DVD or the DVD ROM.

Saiyan i got your point

But the problem is…

Its the jetway 692g board…

And it comes with only 1 ide(primary secondary all one)…and that too it suggest for hdd in maual…but i have to connect the dvd writer…i have no pata disc so connecting only dvd writer on it…no other option i guess i have to get a sata dvd writer i guess…

yes kumar and sandyi know i cant run a 32bit os stuff …the only way i can try is either getting a usb hdd or changing the dvd rw stuff..i guess..but even if u peeps have any idea its most wc

copy installation files from dvd to a partition on the hdd and install from there. after installation is completed and all drivers etc loaded u can delete the installation files.

Edit:  this is a no brainer from me!!! :ashamed:

jus boot via the windows dvd/cd and run a clean install now how easy is that

just sorted the matter out…

Actually the stuff was while booting from dvd halfway the dvd wont get detected so in middle i was in lost situation..what to do…

i copied the filles via dos on to hard disk…and later gave that path when dvd was not detected…

and ya job done…

now bak on windows mce 2005(32bit) and windows vista ultimate(64 bit)…thanks for all your help
