card within 5k

i have a very tight budget right now. i wanted to know which graphics card to get within 5k
sys specs are:
amd phenom ii x4 925
asus m4n68t-m
corsair 4gb ddr3 1600mhz
corsair 550vx(buying very soon)

there is an offer from mediahome for 4850 512mb(rs4800) and 1gb(rs5300).. although the 1 gb card is made by VTX3d.. Who are they and their rma service?

anyother or one of those above.. tell fast…

My friend has bought a 1GB GT240 and is really happy with it

No Power connector required

Else spend some extra cash and get a HD5670

i’d say go with the hd4850(512mb),as u’re gonna be getting a competent enough psu. heck! that psu cud handle hd4850 in crossfire without breaking a sweat.

Get a Sapphire HD5670 512MB DDR5 ~ 4.7k
Whats your preferred gaming resolution?
At 1440*900 the 5670 will be able to handle most of the game with all settings at medium easily, in DX11.

resolution right now is lower than 1400x900..
im still old fashioned as per gaming standards :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
still stuck in call of duty franchise.. waiting for black ops. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: most probably will not play crysis2:hap5:
i like strategy games more.. playing civilization V at present…
will play battlefield 2 later..

so based on those what do u recommend?
and i would be using 50% of my time for video editing..

10 charrr

Get HIS HD5670 iceQ: TechEnclave

the 4850 is better than 5670 in many benchmarks. thats why i wanted to buy that.
anybody heard of VTX3d??? who handles their rma?

Why are u going for that brand gpu when u can get a sapphire one?

buy this: http://www.mediahome.in/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&category_id=48&product_id=1262&Itemid=80

Performance: HD4850>HD5670

Plus DirectX 11 relevance is limited at this time… So go for HD4850

is there any difference between 512mb and 1gb

Not much… And Sapphire has very good A.S.S…

And here on TE most people suggest sapphire cards only…

So buy Sapphire HD4850 512MB for 4.8K

+1 to the above.Since u are going to have a vx550 go for the 4850 any day as it kicks ass .The memory of 512 MB is not an issue as ur resolution is 1440x900.Only in full hd the entire video buffer of 1GB is used up in games like Metro 2033,BFBC2 etc

but i heard some people having difficulty playing the newer games in a dx10 card

so would u prefer a medium dx11 card or a good dx10 card

Seeing that he games at 1440x900 I don’t think that the 5670 canhandle high end dx11 games like metro 2033 with all dx11 eye candy enabled

So better go for 4850 which has more muscle. But if u can save a bit then go for 5770 which would be best for ur res of 1440x900.That’s the better option in terms of futureproofing. If u are not gonna upgrade ur monitor to a full hd then there’s no need for a powerful GPU.then that way u should go for a vx450 or even a cx 400 will suffice u.if u can go for a vx 450 the extra bucks u save can be used to buy the 5770 sooner :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

agree with u marcus.. but i think i will buy the vx550 now(will oc the cpu later)and the gpu later. i think i can wait for the new 6900 series to be released. probably by then the prices of the 5770 and 5850 will have gone down then. anyway after this month will be busy for a month or two.. so no point hurrying then.. will just as well invest in a dx11 card when im buyin!

the 5670 is gettin pounded in metro… no use investing in that… 5770 will be much better compared to 5750 then?

yes definitely form price/performance perspective the 5770 is way more VFm than the 5750

i have an old 9600gt in another system. if i buy another 9600gt and sli it will it be enough? comparable to 4850?

on the contrary mate.
