I claimed the offer! I opened ChatGPT in my browser, refreshed a couple of times, and the popup appeared to claim the 12-month free ChatGPT Go plan. Thanks for sharing!

yes, a card with international payments activated. if you delete it you will lose active subscription.
Did they temporarily pause UPI payments? I still have my UPI account added as a payment method, but couldn’t see it, so had to use my CC instead.

I used my RuPay Card (which was detected as Discover) and got the subscription. No OTP or charges, may be due to being billed outside India?
Btw, should I keep a reminder for say 01st Nov 2026 to cancel this so I am not charged next year?
what will happen once we revoke the mandate, will the subscription end within a month ?

I had subscribed to the go plan 2 months ago and its already active. Though i got a email that its free for me as well but i dont see anything in the account page. Still says 399 and next billing date as nov 30 2025 as well.

You should be able to cancel any time on/after 4th October, 2026, and retain the subscription till 4th Nov, 2026, assuming it was activated today.
Edit: I misread mandate for cancellation. I’m not sure what would happen for the former. Can you see if your CC has set up a standing instruction for it? I haven’t checked yet.
Yeah, it’s set up for free auto-renewal every month for a year. If you cancel now, you’ll only retain the subscription until the current billing month ends. So ideally, you should cancel on/after 4th October, 2026, if activated today, and that will retain it till the end of the free period (A year from now).
You’ll be moved to the free yearly sub in the next billing cycle as @Naveen_Reloaded mentioned

@ others it says renews on Dec 2024 but it is free for next 12 months that was also clear.
So dont get so worried. They cannot charge you after saying its free for 12 months. If they do OP will pay .

I did it through upi mandate. But where does the subscription status show in chat gpt so that i can ensure that it’s indeed valid for one year? I can’t see anything in the app
