Cheap Mini PC for Home Server?

My use cases will be running truenas scale on it, and running Immich, jellyfin, Tailscale and maybe nextcloud inside.

Ideally id like like NAS drives from an enclosure or something to connect to the mini pc [not sure how to make it work yet] for the zfs storage

Anyway, Id like to buy it under 20k, ideally at max 15k…

@FortiCore might help.

Almost no Mini PC comes with enough SATA for you to connect the NAS drives.
You can connect a DAS if you want, which connects over USB

Other option could be an N150 ITX board which comes with 6 SATA

or if the mini pc has 2 nvme slots we can use an nvme to sata adapter

Yep, How would one get out the SATA cables from mini pc, without cutting a hole or keeping the bottom open ?

One option could be, to 3d print a custom bottom panel, or side

Mini itself wouldnt have space to hold 3.5 HDD

Yep so else it will be an massive setup or get an sff

Not sure how many people would be interested in this type of ITX case,
The retail cost could come out to be 8K after including all the costs. even when done in bulk

I’d be interested. This plus one of the N100/N150 ITX boards seems great for plex. Do you have the dimensions for this case? Need to check if it fits in my nightstand (It currently houses a SFF PC with a 20TB disk).

Good to hear, dont wait for it though…. I am working on it, but dont have a timeline, there are many trade barriers

Then you need a mini PC and a NAS box or an ATX cabinet with 4-8 drives capability .
