Choose your Gpu's

There are lots of Gpu’s available for variety of application…like gaming, professional use…etc…you need to select your right GPu to meet all your requirements…for that you know what each model is capable of…and what each should be used for different use…(anything above Mb capable Gpu’s prescribed below are money waste for their respective level of gamer)

For a low end gamer…they need only 128 to 256mb capable GPu’s…with minimum power usage…

For a casual gamer…They need around 256 Mb capable Gpu’s…with minimum power usage…like in games like COD2,old releases around 05,06 and 07

For a avg gamer…they need around 256-384 Mb capable GPu’s…with avg power usage…like games released late 06 and 07

For a serious gamer or high end gamer…they need around 512mb capable gpu’s…to meet their needs…with high power consumption…like for games released in 07…

For Extreme gamer…they need around 512 to 1024Mb capable Gpus in SLI…since they need more computing power to deliver their needs…for games released in late 07 and 08…with high power usage…
**For extreme Enthusiast…Seriously power and performance is the only option here…so they need around 1024Mb capable Gpu’s in Dual or Tri or QUAL SLI Config…to meet their need…since it give insane computing power…for that u need serious PSu to Deliver Insane power to feed these beasts…for games released in 08 and future upcoming releases…
**

*Example stated Below…with refer to models
*

**For a low end gamer= 7200 to 7300 series and 8400 to 8500series
**
**For a casual gamer= 7600 series and 8500 series
**
For an avg gamer = 7800series and 8500 to 8600 series and 8800GS and 9600GSO

**For a serious gamer or high end gamer= 7800series and 8800GT,GTS series and 9600GT
**
**For Extreme gamer = 7950 series and 8800GTx(SLI) and Ultra and 9800GTX SLi and 9800GX2
**
For extreme Enthusiast (min with Dual SLI)= 8800ultra and 9800GTX(SLI or Tri SLI),9800 in QUAD SLI

For all these u need a better psu to handle various GPU models…they are stated Below

For 128 to 256 low end cards = 350 to 400W psu
**
For 256 Gpu’s avg gaming = 400 to 450W psu
**
For 256 to 384 Mb gpu’s = 450w to 500W psu

For 384 to 512mb GPU’s = 500 to 550W (even 450W from branded manufactures is enough)

For 512 to 1024 Mb single = 500 to 650W Psu’s

For 512 or 1024 Mb GPu’s in sli = 650 to 750W psu’s

**For 512 or 1024 Mb GPU’s in Tri LSI = 850 to 1000W psu’s
**
**For GTX280 models in TRI SLI = 1000 to 1100 W psu’s
**
For QUAD SLI config (9800GX2) = 1000 to 1200W psu’s

NOTE: eventhough the power requirement Stated above may change…for their OPTIMAL RUNNING CONDITION u need the above power usage PSU’S

Comments welcome…

Nahice classification of PSUs based on the memory; :joy:

Flames shall follow; :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

ummm…gud effort…

Rakesh, nice effort…but the amount of memory on a graphics card is not the most important factor in determining its performance, nor for knowing its power consumption.

To put it bluntly, this thread is quite useless.

why are stressing just on memory amount

afterall not just memory but other factors are important for a GPU .

we also have 8800GT 1GB edition …so its not that it will beat 9800GTX ,8800GTS G92 , 8800GTX ,8800ULTRA , GTX 260,etc.:hap5:

LOL, which PSU would you recon for 8500GT 1GB Card? -
PSuperb guide..
guys ATI cards doesnt exist.

Dude, whats the significance of this statement btw??
NOTE: eventhough the power requirement Stated above may change…for their OPTIMAL RUNNING CONDITION u need the above power usage PSU’S
@gannu
I think, he wants to convey that, at idle load you need above based PSU’s..

I guess you did put a lot of effort in making the post but as pointed out before, this is as useless and uninformative as it gets…And do clear out your own concept before posting such threads which just might mislead some other new guy…

As u guyz refer memory is not the only factor in referring the capabilities of a gpu…i know that…but this guide is a beginner friendly guide…like advanced users…beginner users will be confused in determining their gpu…if i go for advanced specifications……their are lot of guyz out their who dont have that much knowledge in comp components…

This is just my first ever thread…and i put this as easy i can…

**gannu…for example my single Gx2 even runs with 550w power supply..as stated by nvidia…but wen suppose under critical heavy load it may crash…so for optimal running condition…to avoid crash…and other supply related problem…it needs min of 750w…
**

i think he meant it this way as in
384mb=9600gso
512mb=9600gt,8800gt,9800gtx,3870…
1024=above in sli etc etc
its actually a pretty good effort .nice work rakesh

And for 8800GT 1GB edition and 8500GT 1GB Card …these are all upgraded versions…so they need only 500 and 450w psu respectively…since these cards have 1GB,it dosent mean that i has processing capabilities likes 8800GTX,8800Ultra,9800GTX or 9800GX2…to even GTX280…so less process means less usage…so low psu’s…

thnx vijay

Two consective posts in a short time..blah
U didnt read rules here..
Ok but ur beginner guide is sufficient enough to mislead ppl.

Mods Del This Post, Smethng Went Wrong While Editing Previous One..

Nope 8500gt does need 450w PSU.

You see what you have to understand is that memmory plays a very small part of a gpu there are shaders, and various other things based on GPU architecture. The 7 series is not recommended for any kind of gaming now also you have not added any ATi cards. If you are upto date as you state then you must be knowing how the HD 4850 and HD 4870 destroy their competition.

Also understand this we are not here to make a beginner understand only a part of things we want that beginners understand everything before they make their purchases.

Hope this helps.

And if I were knave I would have said that this list is rubbish.

The 8600GT is a minimum for the casual gamer. It costs 3k these days I dunno why someone would recommend an 8500GT.

Also there are cards like HD 3850 / 3870 which perform quite well for the average gamer.

still ur concept not clear .

wo worked well for all the info. ,byt info. is just wrong

dude calm down .

i just isaid you implied it  .odd memory sizes like 384(9600GSO,8800GS) and 768(8800GTX) and honestly who buys a 8500 with 1 gb i dont they even sell such a card and even if they do must be mostly for HTPC

And it doesnt depend upon the processins capabilities alone 2900xt and 3870 have similar processing but 2900 consumes way much power .nevermind i think you shud do you research before posting anything .

nice nice
