Wait …that’s a thing ??? huh ??? Would that slow down performance in any way?
Graphics cards with m.2 slot for NVMe ssd is old news though 2 slots is something new.
Damn , this is the first time ever i am seeing or hearing about one .
So this is made just so you can use your extra bandwidth that the card can’t use?
I wonder if it is just passive connection, which could be possible with some adapter like we already have riser cables, just with extra female ports to connect stuff.
Nvidia is not going back to using full x16 lanes any time soon, huh. This might come in clutch in ITX builds.
Any chance the gpu can access what’s stored on the SSDs directly without going through the CPU? That would be awesome for running LLMs.
Even if that was possible, the bottleneck would still be the SSD’s speed, which is the case presently. So I don’t think that would make any difference.
The SSD will run hot whenever GPU is loaded.
