I am looking to buy 2 SATA SSD and 1 platter drive. Given the current pricing scene, I searched around and found that the pricing difference between new and refurbished stuff is low. 2 512GB EVM SATA SSD and 1 4TB Hitachi drive is currently costing just 5K more than 2 Samsung SSD and 1 4TB HGST 7200RPM 6Gbps drive. Now the question is whether to go for new, consumer grade items priced marginally higher or for better spec enterprise grade refurbished stuff, priced lower? Catch here is that whether vendor will provide actual CrystalDisk report of disks or not, remains to be seen.
