Can see what NAND and controller they’ve got via the SMART data in order to determine if it’s the QLC version or not.
In CrystalDiskInfo
select Edit -> Copy Option
tick SMART_READ_DATA and ASCII View
select Edit -> Copy
This will place the raw SMART attribute data in the clipboard. If you paste it here we’ll be able to tell.
The QLC refresh has a Silicon Motion SM2259 controller. Earlier versions had an SM2258 iirc.

Heavy demand for MX500 2tb, first one to pay gets it.
I checked it later on. SM2259 is QLC, older models were TLC. The low endurance is likely because of that. I had an old HP EX920 from 2019, which had an endurance of 600TBW for just 1 TB (still in use in my father’s laptop).
Still, great price though.

BTW if you look at serial no, they were manufacturee in Nov-Dec 2020 (51st week) and I don’t think they had switched to QLC by 2020. SM2259 might not be definitive cuz NewMaxx’s sheet mentions 2259 controllers being swapped for 2258. Eitherway it’s a bit of a mystry now…
I think they also nerfed DRAM on MX500 too

BTW trivia…MX500 is now EOL..
I don’t understand why are they killed it but SATA is not going anywhere atleast not in the PC segement.
