Custom 120mm fan grills

Hello All,

Have decided I’ll make a batch of custom 120mm fan grills. Attached is the shortlisted designs, choose your pick.

I’ll be limiting the grills to around 30 only. Else the cutting dude will take an eternity to finish em :face_with_tongue:

Grills will be made out of zinc sheets, with a coat of primer and spray painted with the choicest colors. Will decide on the price later

Please note that it will take 3 weeks for this to get done. Finalising, printing, etc will take time ( undergoing some training for 5 hours a day ) so no much free time as of now.

PS : The whole thing is tentative depends if i can take the prints correctly :face_with_tongue: will confirm for sure in 1-2 days.

i am interested in skulla. can you also do something similar theme for 92mm (need 5 of 92mm ).

Im in for couple of them. Any of the simplest designs will do. The dragons though not simple look good.

Or do you ppl want the grills in Aluminium? Will cost 30-40 more than base price. Polished Al = bling bling :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Dude!

Your chap must be extremely talented to cut these,

trust me its not an easy job!

But I doubt if you get a smooth finished unless you also get the metal buffing done! to smoothen out the rough edges…

yes with this amount of details there will be sharp edges. but why bother as you put it in once and forget about it? gonna get em cut by the same guy.

Can do Acrylic grills witrh LEDs in it. Gonna be more expensive thats it.

With What procedure are going to get the zinc sheet cut, i’ll suggest if any small factory has a CNC machine than that will do the job easily and quickly.
As there are many design u have put up and everyone wants a different one… so other than CNC machine it will take long time.

Also the pics u have uploaded seems to be a screenshot of what designs u have, for a CNC machine u will need the grills in 2D format for best result.

And u can do the same with acrylic u will need a laser cutter for that, just buy a sheet of Acrylic, give the design to the factory guys they will cut them off and just gently & carefully sand the edges of the cutted grill take any LED FAN attach the grill over it voila u have it no need for extra leds…
The sanding will makes the edges glow more than the surface,
giving it a emboss look…

Just let us know the price, if any one wants such i might even try it, also can do chrome, gold etc.. mirror finish look to the metal grill’s…

But i’m not sure if i can as have to find the CNC machine or if anyone else can find one would be great…

I’m really sorry, do not know where u r pointing me towards.
First of all i do not have any intention on taking away your buyers at any point, u have done this before and i have never done this so u are more experienced than me for the moment, but i know i can do much better than what your so called cutter has done. You take a look at own your work and the stuff u get online… lets compare didnt got any similar pics but some thing close to the dragon thing…

This is your work u say it looks better with the paper on it i’m wondering how will it look after the paper is peeled. and when u zoom out the pic then only some one can say its a dragon..

And for the same reason i was pointing out people if anyone knows any place with a CNC machine u can get near to perfect Grills or cut metal wood etc in any shape u want. And i totally forgot that this a market section where people buy & sell stuff with Money…

  1. I’m not doing for any buyers. I never intended to sell any of my previous grills when I made them.

  2. if you can do a better job, please do so!!! No one is stopping you, I might even order some for myself. You’ll find out how difficult it is to actually do it rather than blabbing that I can do it just point me to a CNC guy. Heck if you know your stuff, get it done and post it here.

  3. I have indeed used one of the flaming swords on my comp w/o the paper, looks great.

  4. If you want those finishes you posted in pics, get it cut with a thicker metal, use a needle file to round the edges.

  5. Oh BTW I did get the first dragon cut in my first batch. Looked same as you have posted, no changes.

I have already done grills three times. First time was a disaster, everything came small, 2nd time only half were perfect ( white acrylic ones ) and the third time everything was a bit bigger, but works well. I am being very realistic here saying that its tough, I need time to make it perfect. Its very hard to get it right, thats why I said everything is tentative.
