Dear electronics tinkerers, do you want my dead monitor

.. or its internals.

Tomorrow is the 4th dead anniversary of my beloved BenQ 32" 4K monitor. Its lying wrapped up in clothes like a mummy on top of my almirah since then. I could not let it go nor could I get myself to get another.

But now I think it is time to move on.

I can pull out its parts and ship it, in case it helps any of your projects.

PS: looking at the pics, I have half the mind to use it still with its right side still functional :skull_and_crossbones:

my advice… If in doubt then let it go.

If sure that you can make use of it then keep it.

No use keeping it otherwise.

looks pretty usable to me.

Its kind of usable if I place say a learning video on the right side and follow along on my laptop. Basically anything static that I dont need to move around much can be placed on the monitor and then I can work on the laptop. Better than not having anything at all.

Still if anyone wants parts, please call dibs so that when I do want to get rid of it in 1-3 months then I can get in touch with you first.

PS: its worse that it looked in earlier pic.

I suggest just scrap it, because to make it useful you have to ship the whole screen, the best use case for it to be a diffused light source and that is when the disassembly goes right.

I have a cracked 27" curved 144hz monitor but then I bought it that way haha, it was a cheap way to see if a system posts.

The backlight on this 4k monitor is sure to be bright, making good use as a work light. Speakers can also be salvaged.

But it might just work fine as a podcast screen so I’ll take it, I need more podcast machines while I work since I’m hopping between three rooms every day.
