For years I converted all the DVDs I got to AVI files and now that I have a DVD writer I have started converting all the AVI files to DVD using the free version of vso DIVXtoDVD - nice software.. get it here…
I dont see the point in doing so ?
Anyways, i will try it out, thanks for sharing.
What software can i use to convert DVD into DivX?
Of course there is no real benefit except for my main reason … BORED !! … nothing better to do … and the other reason - I want to convert all my 2 and 3 disk AVIs and VCDs to single DVDs.
I have too many CDs and want to save on space - I have so many that everytime I get a new CD I have to remove one from my old collection and literally throw it away. I have just converted 9 vcds to fit on one DVD using Nero Recode - lost a bit of quality in the process but it was not important stuff so does not matter.
There are quite a few…I personally use a freeware called DVDx…That + of course the DivX 5.2.1 codec
AutoGK + DivX 6 Pro
EAZY,
is this wat u r talking abt? http://www.vso-software.fr/divxtodvd/divxtodvd2.htm
the free version seems to hav a watermark on the video rite? howre u going abt it.
and today i tried www.dvdsanta.com for the same purpose. it worked out quite well, the output quality and stuff were good but again, there was a watermark on the video.
d u guys know any free software which does the job with only a few clicks.
Actually converting divxs to dvds is generally not recommended since divx/xvid both are generally lossy formats and the resultant output is nowhere as impressive as DVDs.
Actually even DVD is lossy…
But its much much better than divx/ xvid.
hehe i know but then most movies are encoded into divx/xvid format using DVDs which are based on mpeg 2 which is again lossy. So that encoding from a already lossy format to another introduces more signal loss and artifacts etc.
And like these guys suggest, converting that media (divx) which has suffered high loss to again mpeg 2 isnt going to make matters better. ![]()
It’ll be a lot better to buy one of those new divx/xvid dvd players. Like the mitashi 999 or something.
