I am using Airtel DSL for nearly 2 decades. Does Airtel upgrades your router to WiFi 6E for better range and speed in the house?

6e is relatively new in india and even 6 is not alot popular
Airtel usually provides wifi 5 fibre routers with its fibre plans and there are few wifi 6 router depends if you are lucky
It used to be that the local technician could offer you a replacement earlier. But, now it’s all centrally managed and it won’t be replaced unless broken or not working. You aren’t assured of what router it will be and it can be an old/used device too.
Wifi 6E and 7 are not typically offered in India, since the relevant spectrum (6GHz band) is not yet de-licensed in India. I believe there was some positive news in that regard a few months ago (think they allocated some 500 MHz or so, but it still wouldn’t be enough- they were recommending some 2x320=640Mhz for efficient operation), but I don’t think it has moved forward since then. There were articles that report that Amazon had to pull off 6E routers last year as the airwaves were not delicensed back then. I have heard of reports where importing Wifi 6E and wifi 7 gear was tricky, as sometimes customs was denying to release the boxes citing the same reasons.
I am also considering getting a couple 6E/ 7 routers once the restrictions are eased.
All the new devices, my gaming PC, my dad’s desktop, my Sonos Era 100, iPhones have Wifi 6E or 7. A 6E router offers better range. Because with my current router its range issue. The corners in my house have week signal
I understand you have range issues but range issues are solved by better antennas not with better protocol. 2.4 ghz is the best for range 5 ghz is not so good for range and 6 ghz or wifi 6e is worst for range. While it’s opposite for speed. While talking about speed you can’t possibly utilize complete wifi 5 speed for internet in india as a general consumer. While there are others thing to consider like house construction older much better build house create problem for wifi network. network congestion alot of wifi on same channel will make your connection unstable. If the general wifi 5 airtel router doesn’t work for you. In my opinion you should explore into mesh network
