I am from chennai and how is the data transfer in chennai???.. heard that the speed is just 1KBps… is that true?

I have enabled Airtel Live on my moto e398 to test the speed, but i always get the message as “Data Server not available”…

I have the following settings… is it correct…

Port: 9021

Speed(Bps):9600
Line Type: Modem
GPRS APN: airtelfun.com

I havent given the username and password… is that reqd?

Is the Line Type Modem or ISDN?

I thought of getting gprs but since even airtel live is not working i havent activated gprs…

Any users of Airtel GPRS - How is the speed?
Any Motorola users: Is the settings correct… help me with it…

One more final question… Does the speed of GPRS depend on the strength of the signal???

Well I have Airtel GPRS enabled… Speeds are pretty pathetic but just good enuf to check mail and wap sites. Not that it matters anyway to me cos i get it for free :face_with_tongue: . Anything free is welcome :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Edit: Yeah the data rate depends upon signal strength (or so i’ve heard but unconfirmed)
