E6750 Overclocking HelP!!

Guys this used to be my config b4..

XFX 650i Ultra/C2d E6750/4gb ram/160gb HDD/8800Gt/Corsair VX550

I was able to overclock my processor to a maximum of 3.4Ghz on Stock heatsink in the Unlinked mode…
Then I recently got a GTX 280 and a 640gb harddisk..SO my current Config is

XFX 650i Ultra/C2d E6750/4gb ram/160+640 HDD/GTX280/Corsair VX550

After connecting the new components I didnt disturb the overclock settings,so pc was happily running at 3.4ghz..but then i got a little curious and wanted to overclock my pc to 3.6ghz..thats where it got fcked up..Now matter what i do my overclock doesnt cross 3Ghz..not even 3.05ghz..

I tried linked/unliked mode..bt only in linked mode am able to set a maximum of 3ghz..if i increase beyond that the pc crashes at startup/or blak screen..

Help me guys my card is getting bottlenecked in heavy games..I wud like to c my proccy back to 3.4ghz..!! plz help!:huh:
PS: my proccy at 3ghz has a idle temp of 60s and arnd 75 during load!

Which psu? Did you disable c1e and speedstep? You should get an aftermarket cooler.

What is linked/unlinked mode? o_O
Am guessing you mean setting the FSB :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: RAM divider.

How did you reach 3.4 settings previously? Whats speeds did you run your RAM back then? More importantly, did you still use a hybrid combination of Corsair and Transcend back then too?

mode unlicked..ram at 800..fsv 1700..no other changes too timing n all..yeah same hybrid combo..voltages at auto..i was able to do it..bt once i changed the value its not reverting back to my old stable 3.4 no atter wat i do!
