While searching ebay for Canon 50mm f/1.8 II prices I encountered this amazing price haphazard..
Canon 50mm f/1.8 for Rs 5222/- and has 2 year manufacturer warranty…
eBay India: Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 Lens New with 2yrs mfg wrty (item 390186953319 end time 30-Apr-2010 21:52:01 IST)
Canon 50mm f/1.8 for Rs 5450/- with 6 month dealer warranty.. or in other words - in gray..
eBay India: Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 Lens New (item 390184173521 end time 24-Apr-2010 22:35:35 IST)
The thing is that both are on sale by the same dealer, the Dream-gadgets..
Being not a ebay purchaser, have no idea about it.. can anybody enlighten me… How is it possible???

they do that sorta thing often, hoping that someone doesnot chance upon the first one and instead buys the 2nd one..
+1 to the above…if the one with more warranty is not found, a person would buy the costlier one with even less warranty
U mean people would buy the expensive one with less warranty, thinking that the cheaper one with more warranty would have something faulty or some risky deal chance..

I’ve already ordered the first one (with 2Years Canon India warranty)
Nothing to worry there as the second listing is quite old when the price of 50mm F1.8 was around 7k, but now it’s not.
Look at here EF50mm f/1.8 II - Digital Cameras - Canon India
and here http://smartshoppers.in/product/canon-ef-50mm-f18-lens-new/
BTW I’d confirmed with seller about warranty.
