Yes. I had exactly same thought in my mind but most electronics and laptops are now easily being powered by usbc cable( PD) .
I am thinking a little ahead but if I think practical than Ecoflow is better but for a little ahead Ugreen will be much more useful specially due to portability.
Still if someone is not looking for portability nothing can beat ECOflow price and the need for AC output.
Edit- Ordered ECO flow again.
actually offer hai. 5% more discount. beside card discount .
I ordered the bigger 768Wh version (comes to ~28 k with SBI). 2x the weight but 3x the capacity. Enough for to cook a proper meal in the middle of nowhere.
Camping and roadtrips. You can’t run appliances on vehicle’s DC power. Also doubles up as a backup ~1.3kVA to 2.5kVA (xboost mode) UPS at home (assuming power factor of 0.6),
Complete outage but it is the monsoon, the electricity workers rush out to reconnect the breaker at the transformer whenever this happens.
Possibly triggering (animal death): what I’ve been able to understand is that the urban wildlife likes to huddle near the transformers for the warmth and end up electrocuting themselves to death, tripping the breaker over there.
Hey look, a power outage as I type this now. RIP little buddy.
If charging laptop is your primary concern, you’re good with a DC-AC inverter. But anything beyond 120W is risky as the cigarette lighter (or whatever they’re called) are usually rated for a max current of 10A.
Most modern vehicles already support 45W charging these days, enough to power a laptop, making these inverters obsolete.
Never taken one. But the one I’ve ordered is ~7kg; not much in the grand scheme of things.
Which city is this ? If it is a humid area , I would be sitting without clothes on the terrace .
I am also exploring windmills with 500w /1kw from China . I believe they can power fans in the night with of course an inverter and a battery .
I have a cigarette lighter installed behind the gear shift in 1 car and below the rear ac vent on another car . These points are directly connected to the battery since I have wired the lighters to the amp wiring . So I never blow a fuse for power beyond the 150w mark .
I also have a 2kw inverter with tongs which can be directly connected to the battery for higher power , but never used it until now .
When I travel for business meetings in other states , I carry clothes , and other grooming accessories with me . So my shaver , search light get charged .
I also have a portable stove which uses butane cans and a 500w heating plate for cooking on the go . This is in Africa though . So talk about camping I am on camp every day there in Africa .
When you go camping do these boxes weight not count much ?
Mostly Car camping you dont have to think too much about weight.
For trekking where you carry your own loads. Well, if its a group you can distribute the weight. But if its Solo or 2 person. This is definitely a big no.
Beside in any case a powerbank is suffice for such treks.
This is also more useful when you running group tours and taking your group to remote locations where electricity supply is not so good.
recently when I was stuck in Landslide in Himachal . Entire Village had no electricity for 4 days.
