I’ve been using LeapFTP all these years because it is the lightest, simplest FTP client on the web (paid, however). I thought nothing could come close to it until I came across FireFTP over the weekend. It’s simpler than LeapFTP, it’s free and what makes it great is that it plugs right into your browser and has an auto-resume feature built-in 
If you do download and use FireFTP please donate at least $1 for a very noble cause.

have it in firefox but always been using flashfxp.
Why does one need a dedicated FTP client these days?
Well, people have been using FTP clients before “these days” - I just found something better recently. Why FTP? To access and manage your websites
to manage websites & a lot of other stuff that i cant mention here.
I still use Smart Ftp.
