Well, I’ve decided to sell my E6600 for something else. Purchased locally for 17.5k in September, from Mumbai, so it comes with a good 3 year warranty.
ABOUT THE CHIP:
**Stepping: **L626A195
**Max clock (benchmarked): **3663mhz (stock cooling)
**Max clock (at stock volts): **3240mhz (ideal for 24x7 use)
For the first month, I ran it at 3.2GHz 24x7 before restoring speeds back to the stock 2.4GHz; however, I’ve recently started running it at 2.7GHz (300 x 9) - I don’t really need more computing power for my work and games. I did not push the chip beyond 3.6GHz because the stock cooler isn’t great + I had trouble with my board’s NB temperature. I’m certain you can easily reach 3.9GHz on air with a decent aftermarket cooler because Funky, who has the exact same chip was able to
This chip has also kept me on the SuperPI Leaderboard (albeit dropping to #9) since September - btw, the entire Leaderboard is invaded by the E6600, so if you’re deciding between this and an Allendale, it should be an easy call
SALE DETAILS:
Sale price: Rs.13,700 shipped (updated Dec 11)
Condition: Installed for about 3 months - processor surface is perfectly flat, stock cooler isn’t but I can lap it on buyer request.
Reason for sale: I wouldn’t downgrade, would I?
Should you have further questions, post them here or PM me.
