Fundraiser for my Prosthetic Arm after Cancer Amputation

Hey guys,

Hope you all are in good health.

I’ve been fighting cancer(Ewing sarcoma) since I was 16. For the last five years, it’s been endless rounds of chemotherapy, radiation and hospital visits. Last year, I went through a major surgery, hoping it would end, but the cancer did come back. It was primarily located in my arms, but now it has spread to my lungs as well.

Last month after nearly 9 months of chemotherapy, I had to make the hardest decision of my life, to amputate my left arm above the elbow. It is something I had never imagined I’d go through at 21. It hasn’t been an easy road, but I refused to back down.

Despite everything, I completed my B.E in Computer Science, and I’m proud of that. And now I wish to build my future and live independently, just like anyone else my age. I want to work and live a life beyond hospitals and treatment.

A prosthetic arm would help me regain my independence to work and live fully. But after years of continuous treatment, the financial strain has been enormous. That’s why I’m reaching out for help, to help raise funds for a prosthetic arm that can help me start again.

Your support means more than words. Every bit helps me move forward, one step closer to the future I’ve been fighting for.

Every bit of support, every share, every kind word brings me closer to regaining a part of myself that cancer took away. Thank you for helping me take this next step forward towards healing and hope.

I’ve included my verified Milaap link below — all documents and medical reports have been verified on the platform.

Hi Thomas,
I’m sorry that you are going through this at such a young age. Chemotherapy and radiotherapy are no joke, and they take a toll on even the strongest of minds. And to have to amputate an arm is just cruel.
I’m glad that you were able to complete B.E. while battling through these issues. Kudos to you! I wish you a speedy recovery and I hope you secure enough funds for a prosthetic arm soon!
Wish you the very best!

Thomas, I cannot understand or relate to what you have been through.
I being a fighter of Ankylosing Spondylitis for more than half my life, I can only say that life always gets better as long as you never give up. I never imagined where I am now 10 years ago and would have even laughed and dismissed if I was told I would be where I am now.
I always find it the physical hardships in turn make the mind a LOT stronger than most.
Looking forward to meeting you in person when I come to Bangalore.
Feel free to reach out to me anytime meanwhile.
Keep living!

Hey Thomas. This was a rough read, and I’m sorry that life has been like this for you. But you seem to have gained immense strength in the process, and the fact that you completed your education and are now looking forward to building your life is so admirable. I genuinely don’t have the words to do this justice.

I hope you’re able to meet your fundraising goal and can soon have the regular life that you desire, that so many of us take for granted.

May you be happy, free from suffering, healthy, and at peace

Don’t know whether the op is aware about BMVSS (Bhagwan Mahavir Viklang Sahayata Samiti) more widely known as Jaipur Foot. They have distributed Jaipur leg and other limbs to 2.2 million beneficiaries totally free of cost.

Though known more for prosthetic legs, they have other limbs including artificial hand.

The op may contact them to find out. If available, it will be totally free of cost for him.
