Hey ppl
what all gaming mags do we have circulating in India at present??? I, for one, only know about Skoar!.. I know there used to be a ‘GameForce’ and a ‘Rage’ magazine sometime back, but it’s been quite a while since those were last seen… 
There’s a mag called ‘Gaming’…don’t know if its Indian or not, but its available at the major malls…another one called PC World, not exclusively a gaming mag but it does have news, updates and reviews on games.
Game Force used to be quite nice. Their editor Christof had even sent me a couple of complimentary issues which were pretty nice IMO. I even remember reading a piece by TE’s own Icefusion there.
The best gaming mag I’ve read in India has to be Computer Gaming World, which is what Skoar used to be called earlier if I’m not mistaken. It was also damn expensive for me at that time at Rs 200 a copy
‘CGW India’ was the Indian version of the International magazine Computer Gaming World… the Indian version mostly had the international content with a lil bit of stuff from local writers for the local content…
it was printed by Jasubhai digital media.. the same guys who do Digit.. somehow the deal between CGW and Jasubhai fell through and CGW exited the Indian market.. internationally they recently had a identity refresh and are now known as ‘Games for Windows Magazine’…
Jasubhai tried to continue with a gaming magazine of their own called Skoar. It used to be quarterly but now its just whenever they find enough material to fill the pages.. also.. Skoar SUXOR!
Games for Windows magazine has been discontinued as well 
They only have an onlinie website now…the pdf’s of the mags I used to download every mnth. It was an excellent Gamer mag

yeah… GFW had a sad end :(… it was one of those few mags that wou;dnt cost u a bomb even if u got it shipped to india!!
i still think the skoar guys can do a much better job!!

SKOAR!! the only indian gaming magazine apart from that there are foriegn gaming magazines like game pro etc for 700-800RS
Guys in Bangalore can visit a place called Magazines. Its on Church street, right at the junction with Brigade road… Stairs leading down…
It has all these imported magazines… The back dated magazines are available at throw away prices… I used to get CGW (international edition) for 100 bucks complete with DVD n all… Tons of other gaming mags as well.. They used to be 3-4 months backdated, but i didnt give a damn…

Where can one find back-issues of CGW online? Want to read reviews of Doom, Warcraft, Diablo, etc.
skoar sucks period.. they review games that are done and dusted months ago..
they themselves dont know when the magazine will come.. and theyre not afraid to say so.. skoar when its done.. EVEN the dvd contents are crappier than the magazine.. giving full versions of old games.. that too dont look legal as they send u images etc…
more like SKOAR WHEN ITS DONE NO ONES GONNA BUY!!
SKOAR is just another rip off from the internet, mainly from IGN, fileplanet, Gamearena websites. We guys can actually compile a fatter version of the mag and sell it for 25 bucks 
. I was once a mod on Gamearena website, and we had to give out some of the articles/reviews to them. Not many authentic magazines made in India though..

skoar is available at my bookstore. it relaunched in march. its pretty good and theyre giving a DVD with free demos too. its a lot better than it was before for sure. anyone picked it up yet?
SKOAR! has had it rough in the past. You can point as many fingers as you want at those responsible, but it doesn’t change the fact that they’ve still survived and pulled through. So give them a chance.

I’ve seen a few issues over at this gaming cafe in Noida , Bunkers , one of the only few gaming places in India which can actually be called a ‘Proper Gaming Cafe’.
Anyway, off topic yeah , someone please let me know where you can subscribe for such magazines. ;]
