Geforce GTS 250 review

Nvidia’s GeForce GTS 250 graphics card - The Tech Report - Page 1

I think the NDA is lifted today..

techreview is down :joy:

tomshardware has one up GeForce GTS 250: Nvidia’s G92 Strikes Again : The State Of Graphics - Review Tom’s Hardware

though i really dont see the point in trying to trust these cherry picked reviews.

Hilbert has also upped a review.. Palit GeForce GTS 250 2048MB review | test

and by the looks of it he has not tarnished his image too much. they’ve benched on additional games too. other than the golden 5

edit - jeeez. THG

Toms is sh*t nowadays. I have even stopped going there.

BTW add to this AnandTech review:

AnandTech
and hexus:

HEXUS.net - Review :: NVIDIA (eVGA) GeForce GTS 250 1GB: much ado about nothing? : Page - 13/13

I take back my previous comment about Hilbert. Seriously disappointed with his conclusion.

BTw, did any one notice the Hd 4870 (512 MB) price cut on newegg.

AMD is putting HD 4870 against GTS 250 so one can imagine what a fight Nvidia’s latest (renamed) card has on its hands

which world have you been in morgoth :face_with_tongue:

4870 AND 4850 have had price cuts!

did I said something else ^o

Hmm looking at TR’s report the 1gb is kicking in at higher resolutions, many a times surpassing 4870 512mb, and Nvidia has managed to reduce the power draw by a good few watts.

In all a close call at 150USD, tilting slightly in favour of Nvidia due to the higher onboard memory. But you need to look performance at 1680*1050 which most ppl would be looking at, at that resolution its a tie.

the power consumption numbers at THG seem to suggest that tht 98+ and the 250gts have almost equivalent power draw.

@morgoth, i was referring to your tone which seemed to suggest that the price cut was new *news * :face_with_tongue: nvm

Do not quote THG…

Dunno if they have improved or not, buts its certainly one of the sites with unreliable info, followed closely by [H]. TR seems to be one of the few good hardware sites left with unbiased views..

Best thing is though 130$ card is 10.5k in India , 150$ card is 12k … we are touching almost new $ multipliers now

$ goes from 49 to 52…distri multi goes from 70 to 80. More recession means less card sold leading to more profit per card. Jai Ho to Indian distris !!

Techpowerup has one up with 17 games. :open_mouth: ppo:
techPowerUp :: Palit GeForce GTS 250 2048 MB Review :: Page 1 / 33
GTS 250 will compete with 4870 512MB at same price from a week so.. :joy:

hain??..wt was this about??.

http://www.techenclave.com/graphic-cards/fud-amd-slashes-hd48x0-prices-129721.html

LoLd, when will I see some reasonable $-Rs multipliers, not for the next 5 years afaik. :frowning:

Though this card, its nothing more than a 9800GTX+ with a re-designed PCB, from what I read in [H]. Who would want this unless ofcourse its selling for less than a 9800GTX+.

The 8800GTS users must rejoice, they have virtually upgraded 2 times already.

thank for the links

TIme to read review

What’s the use… all the tested cards are non-referenced OCd cards that will sell for above $150. In fact the Palit card with 2GB memory reviewed by Guru3D and TechPowerup is expected to sell for around $199. Nvidia hasn’t even allowed reference cards to go out. Yet there is this hoopla over low price point of GTS250.

BTW, did anyone read what bit tech said about this issue:

bit-tech.net | Blog - Where is bit-tech’s GeForce GTS 250 review?

AnandTech slammed GTS 250 in their original review but it was taken offline in minutes. When it it appeared again, the conclusion was softened. Even then AT noted (and thanked Charlie):

AnandTech: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250: A Rebadged 9800 GTX+

Hard OCP did not even got the cards. Kylie was always soft on Nvidia but then apparently he refused total submission. he was cut out. Hardware Canucks too did not get the card.

For Nvidia’s PP introducing GTS 250, go here: Nvidia spins on the GTS250 - The Inquirer

seems promising.

This is a little strange, cause even after TR put up a review, it was down for an hour before being back up. Wonder what is going on.

But even at $150 this card is significantly faster then a 9800GTX + at higher resolutions, and lower power draw too. Its marginally faster then a 4850 in almost all games. Though if a 4870 comes to 150USD (without the rebates please) its a no brainer. Indian prices suck though, this should be at INR 7500

^^ ejjhatly… they probably modified it.. A la AT>
