hi guys

I am getting very low fps on moh airborne/cod4 on 7800gt at 1024x768 NO AA/AF…its unplayable

My PC Config is written in my signature.

Please help me

time to upgrade your Graphic card, :), but on a serious note is it just these games or have u tried other games as well, coz it might point to some other problem in your computer.

Gtr2, C&c3, fifa08, cricket07, blic07 works well on 1680x1050 NO AA/AF

only nfs carbon works well at 1280x800 NO AA/AF

moh airborne/cod4 unplayable…why ?

I can play MOHA, Obscure 2, NFS MW, NFS Carbon, BLIC 2007, Just Cause, Bioshock, WE EVO PRO 2007, GRAW 2, Splinter Cell 2 all high 1024X768.

Only TC Rainbow Six Vegas is slightly slow due to ma P4 2.66GHz CPU and only 1GB RAM. Game needs 3.4GHz P4 minimum. This issue will be solved after installing C2D CPU.

I m using eVGA 8600GT, its good overclocker but no gain on current P4.

I have tried NFS Pro Street Demo, its ugly game, too slow. I play games only to relax, maybe I will change ma statement after installing C2D. :face_with_tongue:

I m too happy with 8600GT, Its gr8 VFM for CRT users. I will buy LCD only after upgrading to 8800GT.

I am using 512MB 400 ddr RAM x 4 sticks but diff brands(2 corsair,2 hynix). can this be a problem.

what is the minimum specifications for the games that you are not able to play??? the games that you are able to play are quite old and are hence playable , the ones you are not able to play are the latest and hence keep a check on minimum and recommended specs from the game website.

163.75 is out try downloading that…looks like it has some fixes for newer games..i have a 7600gt and can run cod4 smoothly..

I have checked minimum specs…I have all components that can run the game.

Have you checked the temps of your card? It might be overheating due to poor airflow because of dust accumulation? This is just a possiblity. It might not be so but just check and see.

There might be a driver incompatibility. Download DriverCleaner and re-install an older version of Nvidia drivers(sometimes newer is not better.)

Your proccy..it’s the same amd3500 right? Cuz dual core proccys have some compatibility issues with older games sometimes. (I’ve seen this behaviour with unreal tournament on a dal core laptop.). Even 2GB RAM can pose a problem sometimes.

I just played moh airborne at 1024x768 NO AA/AF I got lowest 1fps and highest 17fps…

I am getting idle temps of 68C n load temp of 86C

not a major dust accumulation…

i played COD4 on my card its not even close to the card that u guys have but a very good frame rate at 1024x768

i got ultra max at moh airborne at 1280x980 aveg 26- max 48 fps

Most likely it’s a driver issue then. Just remove the 1xx.xx driver using the DriverCleaner software(or you can uninstall the drivers directly but better to use DriverCleaner) and go back to some 9x.xx driver. It should solve the problem.

@anibudh, idle temps on a 7800 gt ext edi of 68c is very high, i have the same card, & it idles at 54-55C. seriously, u need some cab cooling.
ur load temps confirm to my temps too

You might wanna look at what Raj said also. So much temperature variance should not be there unless Raj has some neat cooling. I don’t know what idle and load temps should be for a 7800GT. (My reference is an old 6800GT which idles at 68C and goes to 80-90Cmax on load but these temps are ok for this card.)

Examine both these aspects and make the effort to fix your problem.
