Good Keyboard under 2k

I haven’t looked much into keyboards before beyond them being wireless and full size. I’m now looking to buy a keyboard with keys that don’t feel so mushy while clicking, along with being properly stabilized. My budget is 2k. Wireless is not a requirement, but I would prefer full-sized keyboards with number pad. I have no issues buying used/refurbished items. Backlit keyboards would be nice but not a necessity, I don’t need any rgb lighting either, one colour is good

So far I’ve just looked online and these are the best rated keyboards around that price range:

I think you can go with HP GK400Y one but Aula is also good.
Don’t go ever with Ant esports, Cosmic Byte, Evofox and amazon basic keyboards as these are cheap chinese bought OEM ones and branded on their names & sold here.
They won’t have any real RMA support either for spares or repair support and will just deny if anything happens even within the warranty period.
But Ant eSports Cabinets have a good reputation of replacing broken side panels or other parts at the cost of the customer even while under warranty stating physical damage and at least they are providing parts or repairs than forcing us to buy a whole new cabinet just for a part.
This is the condition of RMA for these brands. So beware. Okay.

That’s very informative. Thanks

Sorry for jumping into the thread, but I was curious—what do you think about Redragon,Gamdias, and Razer keyboards?

Redragon & Razer are good while Gamdias I don’t know.

Most of the keyboards you shared have blue switches. Are you sure you want them? They make a lot of noise when clicked.

I don’t mind noise

Used this before I shifted to a relatively expensive keyboard.

Is it possible to turn off the backlight?

yes, also the light patterns can be changed

Liked ! Redragon and Gamdias are Good. Kreo is a very good relatively new brand to go for, but expensive
Tip - You may also think about KBs with replaceble keys AND switches, but they can cost around Rs. 2799. Very handy and i see that as one of the key benefits of getting a mechanical board in the first place over membrane.

The KBs you’ve picked are fine tbh, as they are goof enough for daily use for the most part. It’s still better than spending a large sum on a KB and regretting it later.

As a consumer, I’d suggest you to go for either this HP or Ant Esports Keyboard’s cheapest offerings, low-risk options in case it fails someday.

  • This HP keyboard for Rs. 1499 Blue keys, full size, very reliable, friends and i use it, works fine -

  • This being Ant Esports, the lifespan is debatable, as well as warranty. But at Rs. 1199, it should run well for at least a year. -

(Portronics, good brand, but new to making keyboards. Benefit is having red switches her, which are like feather soft keys.

Redragon K552W-RGB

You can also try some used KBs on gameloot

There’s a Corsair and Asus KB that are pretty good for the price.

Final Thoughts - Ever seen those keyboards used in Banks ? Those are TVS keyboards. -

It costs Rs. 3000, Full size, no rgb, no style, but it’ll probably last upwards of 10 years.

Out of curiosity, would there be quieter options in this budget?

There’s the quiet Portronics Keyboard i’ve linked -

(6th option in your list)

This is. It’s also swappable, which usually doesn’t come in low budget options.

But CB is also one of the brands that imports low end products. Tbh your budget is not great to begin with.

I have a CB keyboard for my secondary build and it does the job well.

I’m only familiar with cosmic byte because I bought the stellaris controller. I didn’t have issues with that, I guess I’ll see if any reputed brand has anything similar

If you can extend your budget by another thousand, you get redragon. That’s a really decent brand for mechanical keyboards.

I didn’t want to spend too much because it’s just for office work. I’ll think about it

If you don’t care about LED (rainbow means fixed lights) you can go with this

Main consideration is cost, I’m not concerned about colour of the backlight, just that it’s available and can be turned off if needed. I’ll give this a look if I am able to extend my budget

For some reason your messages didn’t show up before. Thanks for the recommendation, this seems to have better switches and slots in right into budget. I’ll get it if there aren’t any other better brands with similar offerings

I have been eyeing that particular Kreo keyboard for a while now. Great suggestions!
