I want a replacement speaker of 15 watt RMS for my Altec Lansing 2.1. The original is a dual magnet type speaker. Only the left side went bad. Had to cut the plastic case to remove the old speaker.
Should I buy two and replace both left and right side of speakers to match the quality of sound?
I bought the speaker for around 3k i think. So I doubt they used high quality speakers in it. I’m seeing some speakers like Peerless costing 1.3k on Amazon. 2 of those would cost more than my speaker set.
in my opinon, if the cab is damaged. no point spending further on replacement drivers. they are half the sound quality
better buy a new set, or a used 2.1 off olx or something
if you have money to experiment, why not, but i think buying used may be a better idea
