ALso any idea what the price for following proccys in mumbai is?

C2D 6300

C2D 6600

wait if u plan to buy these processors , all these INTEL are going to have price cuts in the international market on 22nd april , so 15 days or so the effect will be seen in INDIA . my call wait.

after the price cuts though it may be around this mark. Go for kingston ram selling 1gb 667mhz under 2.8k. for the mobo pls mention a budget as there is one in every range but if its around the 6k mark get your self a MSI P965 NEO

e 6300 - 7.5 k approk

E 6400 - 8 - 9 k

E 6600 - 11K approx

wr u getting E6600 For 11k :rofl: :rofl:

^^^ he said mayb they’ll get cheaper to that level…lets wait and c

i want a board which will support P4 3.0GHz HT 800FSB, 530 , LGA 775
in the immediate future i will be upgrading to E6600 Core 2 Duo or something similar hence the board also has to support that.
price range 6 - 8K and extendable

these were future prices anticipated by xbitlabs and anandtech , i just converted it from $ to rs , 224 $ @ 45 rs comes to like 10k ,plus looking at the dollar prices of AMD and their reflection in the INDIA market. i think u can stop you laughing now. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: :face_with_tongue:

here are the links to it .

X-bit labs - April Confrontation: AMD and Intel Start the Price War (page 8)

AnandTech: Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6800: The Fastest Desktop CPU, now with more cores

Present prices:

E6300 = 8.7k (+/- 500 bucks)

E6400 = 11k(+/- 500 bucks)

E6600 = 15.5k(+/- 500 bucks)

As for the mobo,do remember that 965G mobo’s are pretty bad at overclocking…And if C2D is what you’re going for now then it makes no point unless you OC as AMD has really cool prices now in india with the X2 4800+ at 6.5-6.9k

Do you want a mobo with onboard graphics or you have a PCIE GPU?

RAM for 512*2 should be no more than 3k.Will be less.

Hi All…

Thanks for the replys..

Thing is that I already have a Prescott 530 P4HT 3.0 GHZ @800 FSB .. (LGA775)
which I would like to reuse at least till these price issues settle down..

Hence looking for a mobo which can support my present CPU and will also later allow me to upgrade to a C2D atleast E6600…

AMD is outta question as I have exisating intel proccy… actually didnt wanted to upgrade…but forced to as my mobo busted…

I have a Palit 7600GT so onboard graphics is not a requirement..
Any good mobos which support both my current proccy and C2D and fairly overclockable??

Thanks …
Shashank

Lemme get u right…only if u OC does a core 2 duo make sense?? Agree to disagree pal, they outperform nearly all but the costliest AM2’s even @ stock. You’re paying more for a better technical product not its overclockability…

Hi Guys… still my prob is not solved… Is Intel DG965WH a good board and can it support my existing proccy?? (P4 HT LGA775 @ 3.0Ghz) Please suggest any other boards which are good for overclocking… and also suggested prices…

Need to get a new board…desperately…

What i meant was that if he’s going to buy now,then he would get better performance with the AMD price cut..For example,if he buys a E6300@ 9k,he could get the X2 5000/X2 5200 which i think could give better performance.But when overclocked even a little,E6300 is better.
But i think Intel are also going to slash prices,so it doesnt make any sense to buy now.
If im wrong please correct me…am not too good at this stuff:)

DG965Wh is good if you dont want to overclock. its stable.. and it will support your processor..

Hi Guys… which one of these is better..

Asus P5B Deluxe (965 chipset)
Asus P5LD2-VM SE (945 chipset)
Intel DG965WH
and any idea abt Mumbai prices?

Also what r the current prices of 667 mhz DDR2 Ram (Transcend)

I will be moderately overclocking and will upgrade to E6600 later.

I also read somewhere that as these use JMicron controller, the driver has to be installed for PATA devices to be detected. OS how do u install an OS from the PATA DVD Writer?

the p5b dxl is the best out of the three . close to 10k i think. check MAHAVIR ELECTRONICS or theitwares.com for mumbai prices. its a good board to OC also. else take the MSI NEO P965 , P5B Vanilla both these can OC . the intel wont OC at all and the ASUS 945 chipsets will OC just a little and is not a great board as such. the prices for ram are close to 2800 rs 667 mhz for kingston / transcend might be priced similar may be 100 200 bucks more but anothing over 3k

200MPh thanks for the reply…

well may be going for ASUS P5B (not the deluxe). Got a quote of Rs 8500.

Also got a quote of Rs 5200 for 1GB*2 Corsair 667Mhz Ram.

Are these prices fine or they are bit costlier?

are u sure abt the ram , i doubt it might be 5200 of 512 mb x 2 coz corsair is expensive ram. plus check TheITWares - Buy Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers - One Stop for all your Computer Hardware related Needs!!! for prices.

get the kingstons or the transcend (coz am 99 % sure abt the corsair ram prices being more) they would be around 2.8k @ 1gb stick 667mhz or so.

and the price of the P5B is good . buy it

Kingston 667 will overclock better than Transcend 667 i think.

Evga just came out with a 775 socket with 680i chipset, and is called the LT version, and is less expensive than regular 680i. I have regular version, and it is an awesome board with great overclocking in BIOS.

OCZ make pretty good memory that is also good and overclockable, and reasonably price.. just got 2gb of 6400 OCZ gold 800 mhz, and it can take voltages of up to 2.2 with no probs, I paid around $160.00 a month ago.

Hi guys…thanks for the replys…

Well will be going for ASUS P5B board finally. And will go for Kingston or Transcend 667Mhz Ram.

@200Mph - u were right..those prices were for 512Mb Corsair sticks..

Just one confirmation I wanted..whether the ASUS P5B will support my existing proccy..(Prescott 3.0Ghz LGA775)..Intel site sayz so..but just wanted to be sure…

If yes…then my wierd rig will be:

P4 3.0Ghz HT Lga775

ASUS P5B

Transcend / Kingston 667Mhz 1GB*2

Palit 7600GT

Powersafe 450 SMPS (Hope it will be able to handle it..)

ANy issues u guys can figure out if I do so??

if the intel site says so it should, even i dont think there will be any problems. but still may be a more knowledgeable person might just reconfirm it.
