I was wondering if any manufacturers sells jeans that go up the waist (i.e. high crotch depth). I find jeans that only go up to the hips very uncomfortable.
Would appreciate any leads. I have tried Levi’s, Van Heusen, and Louis Phillip. Van Heusen was a little better than the other two but not quite there.
Assuming you’ve already tried Levi’s 501 Original, you can try Wrangler. Look for their Cowboy Cut or Texas Cut variations. Jack & Jones also offers high-rise options in more loose and relaxed styles.
You can also try custom fitting. I’ve heard good reviews about Vashi’s House of Jeans in Bangalore. The Pant Project also offers custom-made jeans.
Vashi’s house of jeans turned out to be a disappointment. They had stuff, but too fashionable for my taste. Most of their jeans were too narrow.
Faced a similar problem with the pant project. Their mid-rise is low rise for me and the leg opening was smaller that I would have liked.
They don’t do customization for jeans.
Jack and jones staff looked clueless when I asked them for high-rise jeans. The few they showed me didn’t fit properly.
I finally ended up with Levi’s 541s. Got four of them. The stretch ones fit well (I would have preferred them to be about half inch higher, but can live with the current fit). The 100% cotton one feels a little tight but I liked the color and the cloth so decided to keep it.
They use to have “Custom-made” option once you select a jeans where you could enter your unique measurements. It’s not there anymore. Did you directly check with them?!
Generally hard to shop for such things these days. Last time I went to a big clothing store in the city and asked for regular-fit jeans, they said ‘only aged people wear those’. Promptly stopped shopping there and bought everything I owned up until now online instead. I’m more of a mid-rise pants kind of guy, but I imagine the hassle of buying high-rise pants is similar to that of looking for regular fit jeans.
Fascinating to see that extremely baggy jeans and pants are the trend now, after being mocked for it years back.
Hard to buy clothes online. Unless I am doing repeats. Even for the 541, I bought the first one at the store for about 6k. Bought the other three online at about 3.5k each.
Jeans is one thing I stopped wearing when I came here. The most unsuitable and uncomfortable for this climate.
Thinner lighter fabric any day.
In colder weather in the west they were fine.
There’s are some things that are hard to argue with. Clothes evolve over centuries and are custom fit to the climate. You introduce some foreign traditions like shirt and pants, its going to be uncomfortable.
Women I think have it right here. Invariably they will be in traditional attire in larger numbers compared to men
It’s just too bad that hot weather and tight fitting don’t go together
Maybe its a matter of getting used to since i haven’t felt that way living in the south side my entire life. When its hot any pant is uncomfy from a simple track to a jeans and anything in between. In those cases the only upgrade is wearing shorts which we cant everywhere
I unfortunsely do not know since they dont display the number and i bought it in their stores but theyve consistently been some of thr modt comfy jeans ive had.
