Hi,
I own an Activa 125 BS6, and I’ve been noticing a whining growling noise coming from the engine when I’m at low RPMs or slow speeds.
It’s quite noticeable — kind of a high-pitched whine mixed with a growly tone, like a whistle sound.
Once I accelerate to higher RPM / speed, the sound fades away and everything feels smooth.
This is only coming at slow speeds or while slowing down and the RPM falls off
Anyone else experienced this? I have heard it with other Activa 125s too in the city. Any reason for this sound?

You can hear from the 3-5 second mark
Thanks!

There is nothing wrong with this sound, this is a perfect healthy sounding engine.
Those are characteristics of many engines. They don’t sound the same across the the full rev range.
The distinct sounds you hear at low RPMs get over-shadowed by the higher RPM noise.

Thanks. I wonder if we can reduce this sound??
engine and gear oil changed?
How old is your bike/scooter?
I think this can be an air intake problem… You ned to check the air filter. If it is chocked then you can get it changed. If it’s not then, check your tyres, wheel bearing, handle rod, Belt/clutch assembly.
Also, check your engine oil too.

I don’t think so. I actually find it pleasing.
I have BS6 6G 110cc. I’ll try to post the audio sample here for comparison.
