This is the mains connectivity at my home, afaik it is a single phase connectivity, so what is the best way to monitor energy consumption for my home ? I already have Home Assistant running..
will the SONOFF POWCT do the work ? and some people talk about esp32 and CT clamp..
any guides on that?
Yeah, the Sonoff POWCT is single phase so it’s a simple install with just a clip on CT. Integrating with HA (without Tasmotizing) is apparently possible via the Ewelink HA addon (second video in my post above). That said, it does not appear to be working very well from the video and comments, maybe it’s been fixed since the video was posted or not.
If you want to Tasmotize the POWCT and integrate with HA then see the github link I posted.
I seriously thought you were going to end it with a punch line like “that kids is why I decided to became an electrical engineer” or “thats how I ended up becoming the superhero black lightning”
You are right, the POW320D is meant for 16A loads and I have used it for a single device monitoring/metering. I was just pointing out the device I had used.
From what I recall there was a blog post / video / comments of someone modding it to remove the relay from the circuitboard and using the POW320D as a metering/monitoring device since it can handle upto 20A (which is the usual load for most domestic single phase supplies). I thought of using it as a metering device by modding it as above but never got around to it.
