How much can engineers in the data field can expect for a remote job?

Hello All

I wanted to know how much can developers in the data field can expect to earn while working remotely in India?

Is it reasonable to assume they can hit 55+ LPA? I am talking about total comp, fixed can be around 42-45, and variable can be 13-15.

I understand that for someone to hit these numbers they would have to be in a position that the hike is not unreasonable. So we can assume that the candidate is expecting a 30-40% hike.

Is it completely unheard of? Or is it a realistic target? Any input would be great.

Man a former colleague of mine got 40+ (dont know the exact number) for 5+ YOE in a startup all fixed without any variable 1 year back for a senior DS role.
