I have 160GB HITACHI HDD which is not working now
it’s model no. is HDS721616PLA380 i am not able to find serial number of this drive which is important while sending drive for RMA attaching pic of drive label

i have sent mail to HITACHI regarding this but no reply:(
have tried E182115,11S41R031…,41R0031…

is this HDD brought by you from any dealer or else, or any replacement/used product.reply with details ,i can help you.
my friend gave me this HDD for backup purpose after backup this drive was lying ideal yesterday he came & asked HDD i gave..& HE found HDD not working
he brought this HDD from used computer components dealer…
the Hitachi drive with you is an OEM verson,ie bundled with some branded PC.So its warranty is only availed with the system itself,and can be claimed from the system manufacturer only.
Hence for your current drive Hitachi India cannot process the warranty (consumer warranty)directly.
As per technical details on your current HDD ,its bundled with a Lenovo System.
Also if its under warranty you need the original system itself or atleast the orihinal first user invoice for warranty claim.Also need to check does the system at the time sale is sold with 1 year or 2-3 years warranty.
looks like this drive cannot be RMAed…
