as being a newbie, i dont know how to connect to cs 1.6 servers namely vstreet and others.
i dont get good ping rates on other servers that i connect via game. but how to type the ip address given to connect to server
Well what internet connection are you on ? Broadband, dialup ?
go to console by pressing ~ and type
connect
example connect 192.168.0.1:2075
Do you have Steam and Counter-Strike installed?
If not, download Steam from www.steampowered.com > Get Steam Now.
AFter installing make an account.
Then you need to buy HL or HL2 or CZ to get CS 1.6.
HL and CZ keys give you 1.6 too. HL2 Silver and Gold editions give you CS 1.6 too. Bronze does not.
If youve done this. Update the game and start it. Go to SErvers. Favourites, Add Server. Join it

thanks for the replies guys. i m currently using dataone 256kbps. i experience a lag sometimes while playing. why does this happen? also what is clan. and i cannot connect to local game servers
Whats you Nick Name on V-Street servers?
BSNL Dataone has bad pings to every server around. Its one of the worst ISP’s for Gaming in Indian Servers atleast.
Get Exatt or Hathway. Much better for gaming.

just use this, when u open the game, press ~ and type this
connect ip
connect 202.71.136.139:27010
and press enter…

but i counldn’t find how to play on clan servers.
when i connect to some servers it says “could not connect to local servers (class c)”
can anyone suggest a solution. thnx
I think you do not have an orignal copy.
you MUST have an orignal copy of Half-Life or Condition Zero to play online..
^^ not necessarily… it depends on da server, i think.
i dont know coz i’ve got the game from my friend. i can connect to internet and also have played somegames butsome givethe problems regarding local lan servers.

Its an official Steam Server. Thus u need a original Copy.
We are thinking of putting off Steam Auth. Though. Lets see.
