Bought this off of a local seller just to try it out as I wanted to get my hands on a HP mini PC for quite some time.
Model: HP MP9 G4. It is very similar to the 800 G4 (See this video)
Processor: i7-8700 0000 ES
RAM: 8GB DDR4
SSD: None
WiFi: Intel 9560NGW
Adapter: HP 90W
Caveats:
- The cooling fan in the HDD bay is missing. Because of this, the system throws a fan not detected error during startup. Hitting ENTER makes this error go away and there aren’t any issues per se because of the missing fan. You could get a cheap HP laptop fan and use it in place of the missing fan and call it a day if you are savvy enough.
- This comes with the i7-8700 0000 ES processor with a 95W TDP. The system is only designed for a max of 65W TDP. If I push the processor with prime95 to its full potential, the system crashes. If I don’t, the system runs just fine.
Notes:
I tested both the RAM slots and they work fine. BIOS has been updated to the latest version. It is a fully functional system except for the 2 caveats mentioned above. I cleaned the system thoroughly and replaced the thermal paste with cooler master’s master gel pro. There are no markings on the CPU to indicate which ES model it is. But the seller assured that it is an 8700. I am attaching some screenshots of the intel processor identification utility if it helps. Feel free to ping for any doubts.
