Shows ddr3 ram! Otherwise a good deal.
But the reviews and Q&A section says it is DDR4. Probably an error in the Product description?
10th gen doesn’t support ddr3 so that’s def a typo. Great deal btw.
Most likely old stock on which getting warranty from purchase date is very doubtful.
Asus handles Intel NUCs warranty now -
Its DDR4 , @prime had purchased this
Its a different product. This can be challenged legally based on their own warranty terms as given in the previous link. Obviously its not for the faint hearted given the overall situation around Consumer Protection laws.
The warranty T&C is same for all their products. Basically if a pc component company here sees a bill for a product with 2-3 years old mfg date then they will not give warranty from the purchase date in most cases or they will ask for something almost impossible, a written official confirmation from seller on flipkart (amazon does not sell such old stock) that the product sold was in “new condition”. Most ppl would be in no mood of fighting the case in consumer court so this disclaimer should be made known to potential buyers in my opinion in such deals.
The actual warranty terms of the company is what consists as legally tenable not what some minion asks for. That is what should be the basis of any legal dispute and that is something everyone should also be made aware about.
For instance if the terms mention warranty start from date of manufacture/packing then that should require everyone to ask the seller for that information before purchase.
Having said that, it is perfectly fine to share customer experiences or malpractices on after sales service for awareness. I have never been against that.
Yes but this also varies from company to company. Zotac for example has this policy at highest level where any too old stock product bought from “non-official seller” like flipkart retailnet will not be eligible for warranty from purchase date as communicated by them via their official support email to many ppl. Many already consider asus to have even worse after sales support so almost certain they too will deny at the highest level so only option remaining would be consumer court.
This is also not possible on flipkart I think not to mention many sellers on ecomm platforms don’t know much about products themselves. Best case scenario is, seller says warranty applicable from purchase date but brand denies then ecomm platform agree to take back the product & issue a full refund.
At the risk of going off topic -
All of what you say can be legally challenged if consumers are made aware of their rights and the actual warranty terms. The problem is mostly the lack of implementation of laws and also lack of consumer awareness. I also do think that sometimes they give up rather easily. Each of these cases should be logged.
PS : Intel still lists NUCs for warranty check -
