Introducing UniFi OS Server for MSPs

UniFi OS Server

Self‑hosted software package that delivers UniFi Network, and soon additional applications in the UniFi ecosystem, from a single install.

  • Runs the entire UniFi Network application suite in one containerized stack.

  • Scales to serve many customer sites from a central footprint.

  • Fits into existing backup, monitoring, and compliance workflows.

  • Evolves directly from the proven UniFi Network Server lineage, with easier updates and rich API support.

UniFi OS on Your Own Hardware

Deploy on x86/x64/ARM64 servers, virtual machines, or edge appliances that meet your performance goals.

  • Choose the CPU, memory, and storage that match your workload.

  • Leverage virtualization clusters for high availability.

  • Keep data residency in country or on‑prem as policy requires.

  • Integrate with your established DevOps and CI pipelines.

UniFi OS Server extends our license‑free ethos to operators who demand hardware choice, data locality, and scalable multi‑tenant control. Start local, add cloud oversight when you decide, and deliver advanced networking services without stacking subscription costs.

This looks awesome and the fact that they might be providing official container images and even supports arm64.

But am I right to think this is gonna replace unifi network app?

looks amazing but i am not sure how we can utilize it. do we need ubiquity products? what features they have special? wireguard is available? i am new with this.

I’ll wait for peeps with more unifi products installed/experience to comment here. I just have two Unifi U6* Lites and controller is running on a Pi. But right now, controller image is provided by fine folks at linuxserver. I’m wondering if the announcement also extends to controller software, i.e, Unifi OS is the new controller software.
