After updating to iOS 26 on my iPhone 15, I’ve noticed that the touch responsiveness no longer feels as smooth as it did before. There are frequent lags, frame drops, and occasional glitches, which are making the overall user experience less fluid. I’m curious to know if this issue is specific to my device or if other users are experiencing similar performance problems after the update.
No lag on iPhone 13 Pro Max atleast after the initial settling in . Lag and issues are only with Safari right now . Getting distorted sites ( TE included ) . Also odd blackouts on sites while searching.
You should be able to roll back using the ipsw method while the window is open. Wait a while for things to be stable this is the first release.
I am updating 15 plus to last release of ios 18, currently I am on ios 17. It is a good idea to stay little behind.
My friends iphone 15 is also lagging so I can say you’re not alone
running much smoother than than iOS 18.6 on my 13 Pro
Does it always take too long to update? I’ve got an ipad 10 and it’s updating since last 20+ hours and says 18 hours left.
I’ve got no experience with ios so this seems ridiculous to me
sometimes its advisable tor reset the phone and go for a fresh setup especially with a major update like iOS26
You mean downloading for 20 hours?
Just says “About 22 hours remaining”. Internet speed is just fine, getting 480Mbps on speedtest. A lot of other people reported since several years but no solution
You can also install via iTunes.
I tried downloading random app and it got stuck at 0MB. Restarted the device and within 5 minutes got a notification to install. Weird issue but hope it helps someone else
Please provide update on this later on
Won’t update my 15 Pro Max until they force me, i dont like this Glassmorphism ![]()

No hardware issues but I absolutely hate having to do so many extra taps now in Safari to switch/close tabs or use the share sheet to modify the content. Really hate the trend of hiding things upfront and making it more time consuming to access extra options.
Settings or Settings + Data ?
If anyone wants the fresh start, this is the way.
- Download update file from ipsw
- Put phone in DFU mode
- Restore with iTunes using ipsw file (by holding shift key + clicking on Restore button)
This erases the phone and flashes new firmware in one go.
I did not like it when it was announced in WWDC, i thought wtf is wrong with Apple.
After a month, I tried out the public beta and opinion completely changed, Liquid Glass is awesome
As a long time Apple user, I never upgrade with the first release, only after there’s a x.1 or x.0.1 release.
I’ve seen that it appears as if Apple does thorough internal testing of the first release with only the current/incoming flagship. All other models are optimized later, after users report issues which are then fixed with the first update.
That said, I rarely update, because I need things to work as they are. Previously I had a second device to test out new updates.
It lags here and there. When sharing stuff from other apps to whatsapp there is a noticeable lag. Same with Tahoe even the shutdown window lags
