I thought lightening port is also reliable like usb C.
You always have to carry your own cable for most things
Good lightning cables are more expensive than usb c cables
USB C is convenience

just saw mine and it stands at 90 with 500 cycles.. how much could i expect?

No lightning port is not as reliable as we would like to believe.
Firstly it will mostly work with Apple’s original cable properly ..sometimes it works with third party cables but after few times it shows error.
Secondly it needs careful cleaning too after a while. If you make one mistake while cleaning..toh gaya.
Type C is much better.
