I just bought an iPod Classic 6th gen 80gb but cant seem to be able to transfer music to it.. I have Mac through which i tried syncing but its showing zero songs, tried some apps also and also tried mamually transfering songs to iPod control hidden folder but its not able recognise them..
I had the same issue with my iPod. I tried it with Mac, but it just wouldn’t work. Tried it with a PC with Windows 11, and iTunes kept crashing every 30 seconds. Ultimately, had to install Windows 10 on an older laptop and was able to transfer music through iTunes.
These older iPods can sometimes be a pain to work with.
I guess you can also look at Rockbox firmware for iPod. I had it running on my iPod classic. It supports FLAC formats etc apart from easy music transfers as well alongwith tons of visual/sound customisation.
Edit: Rockbox runs alongside the stock firmware. One can switch between them.
Yes. I used to transfer files from windows directly. One of the main advantages of rockbox is freedom from iTunes. I suggest checking out this video for having a look at the features.
Really wish to to try it when resurrecting my iPod classic and nano. But mine’s kinda deadbootlooping with that spinning on-off sound, probably HDD failure, iPod nano haven’t been power on since bought, so the battery might’ve got dead sitting idle.
Can you get me experts or any qualified pro’s to resurrect my ipods. Yes, I need to upgrade it SD mem card for my 160GB ipod classic.
