I have a XFX 6600gt AGP is my ofice rig. Its not overclocked, running @ 300/1000. Using 77.77 Just checked the temp, and was shocked to see 58deg. That too in an open case!!!
And if I run rthdribl, temps increase 1deg every 2 secs
In no time they’d reached 70deg. Is this normal?
yes! it is normal.. my 6600GT idles at 53C and goes as high as 72~74C when gaming.. and the GPU clock speed u have mentioned, thats 2D clock speed. 3D clock speed is 500MHz.
Hmm same here, my 6800 idles ~53 and moves upto ~70 on load at stock…
going to 80C on full load
@Anish what 6800 are you having?
Also, the core is @300 idle, but jumps to 500 as soon as i start rthdribl. Why does this happen?
( the 300/1000 readings are from rivatuners hardware monitor)
300MHz is the clock speed for 2D apps.
Whenever you start a 3d app, clock speeds rises to 500MHz
mine idles at 52-54 and maxes out at 67-68C. These at 570/1160
Dont worry. It wont Burn itself out :).
i max out at about 62-64 C load
that is very cool for 6800 ultra ![]()
i used to get 95Deg on my MSI6600GT
now i replaced thermal paste. now goes max 85 on OC core 590 mem 1200
85 "c is hot, you might wanna throttle down.
My 6600GT idles at ~60C now… (used to idle at ~50C)
while playing, the temps reaches ~75C
i think its coz of dust n time to clean the cabinet again ![]()
my 6800u maxes at 61 ~ 62
^^ thats really low temps x86 … AC room ??
no its not ac yet bro i am worried for summer though its hot here now only. i thought 62 is much higher lol but when i touch the heatsink it dont feels tht hot as 62 but it says ambient temp is 42 and gpu core is 61~62 after around 3/4 hours of gaming.normally it stays around 53 to 55.
how are u chking the temps while playing games … if idle is 53-55 then load temps will be around 75-80 …
no i am sure its 62 i am chrcking it from nvidia control panel.say i am p[laying dom3 i closed the game and checked it immediately.
no use x86…
The moment you minimise a game, the temps drop… That is a wrong way to check temps.
What you have to do is to use Rivatuner Hardware monitoring. then close the game and see the graph.
If your card peaks at 63 or so, it is AWESOME!!! But I highly doubt it. It is simply impossible.
Its more like 80-85 under load… if you are using the whiney stock cooler on the 6800U
