The title really says it all. Does anyone know about this site?
Their contact address indicates that they are located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
First thing first I checked pcpricetracker.in and found out they arenāt listed there anymore. I remember they used to be listed and now that I remember the pcpricetracker site owner removed them from the list of trusted vendors but I donāt remember the reason for it.
They have a physical shop with surprisingly huge amount of reviews on google for it. So they do sell PC parts (and much more). Whatās more weird is that I found multiple reviews of same/similar name or having similar profile picture and I doubt someone who has given 5 star review on google will switch account do the same again unless there is an incentive for them. Found many reviews with same surname giving 5 star rating in the same time period (one after another), Could be married couples, siblings who visited together or just a common surname. Lots of āPatil/Patelā āRathodā and āParmarā. Almost all of them have rated 1 review only which is for Mehta Brothers. Iām probably reading too much into this and the shop likely just request their customers to rate them 5 stars.
So most probably legit business with a one off case of bad incident which led to the pcpricetracker site owner removing them from his list of trusted vendor. If someone lives in Ahmedabad who has visited them and can vouch thatād great.
Thanks for the input. Letās hope someone whoās dealt with them or knows about someoneās experience provides more info.
Instinct tells me that they are legit. Their prices are reasonable without being suspiciously low. They seem to have a physical shop but OTOH they donāt display any T&C, shipping or return policy, etc.
I think Iāll send them an email and see how they reply.
Yes itās quite old and legit store. in fact I used buy cds and dvds from them back in 99-00. Have bought many pc parts from them.
Original owner Mr.Arvind Mehta was good friend of my dad.
Unrelated to OPās query but does anyone know pcpricetrackerās criteria for listing stores. Variety Infotech is listed too but most reviews on TE seem to point towards bad experience with them. Itās confusing.
Man, itās been forever since I last visited the Navrangpura Basement store! Feeling a bit nostalgic.
Yes, some shops started quite early, long before online shops existed in India.
I live in one of the most remote state capitals in the country, namely Aizawl, Mizora, but we already had a few computer shops in the early 90s. My first purchase was a 4MB (not GB) EDO RAM stick for 3k. A read-only CD drive cost about 10k then.
good to see amdavadis in TE ! sorry so off topic but since you guys are olā school i had to ask, you guys ever game at e-play in advait complex near vastrapur lake ?
Thanks for the input. I got the impression that they are genuine and that they started as a physical shop. That their online presence was a later addition, a side business, and they havenāt bothered too much about some aspects of modern practice.
Unlike some well known shops in India, their site is quite fast too.
Yes. Back in 2000, the gaming cafƩ near Prernatith Derasar and e-play vastrapur was my regular hangout spot.
@@cisco_tech What was your alias back then, we all only knew and called each other by those names thus Iām really curious >< (Iām still snake eyes)
Update: I decided to take the plunge and ordered a PSU earlier this afternoon.
I first tried to check out as a prepaid order but there was some undefined issue. The process halted with an error message before it got to the stage of selecting the payment method.
Then I tried COD and it went through immediately. No COD charge was mentioned. I sent an email asking if there will be extra charges for COD. They havenāt replied yet.
I think as long the store is legit (not scamming people intentionally) they are listed. Could also depend on how easy it is to fetch data from the store but Iām no expert on it so canāt comment. I have mostly bought stuff from MD computers, ABGB prime, elitehub, vedant, itdepot.
BTW Mehta Brothers is listed in store statistics section under āUpdatesā tab but only seeing one item being tracked.
Which PSU did you order? Just curious.
ADATA XPG Core Reactor 750W. 7095/- with free shipping. The 650W version is enough for my intended use but the price difference is only 195/- so I went for the higher one.
The XPG Core Reactor is not as well known as brands like Corsair, Cooler Master, NZXT, etc. but theyāve earned very good reviews. They are fully modular and 80+ Gold. But the Core Reactor and its little brother the Pylon series have practically disappeared from the Indian market. I found it at mehtabrothers.in after Iād almost given up searching for it. My son and I are using Pylon PSUs.
IMHO the problem with going for the big brands like Corsair, etc. is that they have many variants with similar model numbers. Those variants are said to differ in component and build quality, performance and reliability.
Looked at it on SPLās PSU tier list and there are 3 listed variants for it and all are rated A. I didnāt expect this good PSUs from ADATA to be honest. Price is really good for the rating. Only downside is if itās the 2019 variant then it will have older ATX standard, not sure if that matters for you but thought Iād mention just in case.
Yeah this is common is some brands more than in others and the most annoying part is since there is no indicator for it unless you open the PSU (NEVER DO THAT) you will never know. Sneaky greedy tactics. Same thing happens with other PC components like SSDs.

As already said, most people donāt seem to know about XPG PSUs. Iām in electronics so Iām in a position to analyze reviewersā test data instead of simply relying on their conclusions or on tier lists. ATX 2.0 is fine with me, and the 10-year warranty is nice. Now thereās also the Core Reactor II VE which is ATX 3.1 compliant.
The XPG Pylon series are also very good for their price. Iām using the 550W version that I bought a few years ago. Iām not a power user and itās still good enough for my new build which Iām putting together now.
The Core Reactor is for a friend whoās always relied on me for his hardware needs for the past 30+ years. Itās for a new system that will be used primarily for video editing and playing MS Flight Simulator.
Big thanks for the offer.
I just called them around 8:45pm for another product they had listed at a good price but seems the site is not updated and most of the stuff i asked was out of the stock. The person still asked me to about products i want and he will let me know if he can manage any of them in 1 or 2 days. Letās see how it goes.
@ciso_tech : Please check your DM box. Iām taking you up on your kind offer to help.
I placed my order on the 13th May (more than 10 days ago) but they have neither shipped it nor replied to any of the several mails I sent them. Not even to my ultimatum to cancel the order if they couldnāt ship it within 24 hours. That was 4 days ago.
Fortunately the order was COD because there was a persistent glitch with the prepaid process. Maybe that was done on purpose for items they donāt have in stock. In any case, theyāve made me waste a lot of time.
