Developer: thatgamecompany | TGC
Publisher: SCEI
Platform: PS3
Release date: TBA (2011)
Genre: Adventure
Mode: Single player, Online co-op
With Journey, thatgamecompany continues its tradition of delivering simple gameplay and accessible controls in a rich interactive environment that invites players to explore and experience emotional chords that are still uncommon in video games.
In Journey, the player takes the role of a robed figure in a desert. The game features no map or instructions, only a large mountain in the distance that the player journeys toward. While traveling the player can encounter other players, one at a time, if they are playing online. Players cannot speak to each other, but can help each other in their journey or not as they wish. Players met online will not be identified with a gamertag or username, and voice or text communication will not be possible with the other player. According to designer Jenova Chen, âitâs about two strangers who meet online. They donât know who they are or how old they are. All they know is, that is another human being.â The only way players can communicate audibly with each other is with a wordless shout.
Players will have symbols on the front of their robes for identification, so that the player can tell whether they have met that traveler before or not. While traveling through the desert, players can come across pieces of cloth that can be collected and used to fly for brief periods. The game world also includes magical objects and ruins, though Thatgamecompany has not explained what purpose they serve. Hidden areas will contain tapestries and other clues as to the events leading up to the game, the story of which has not yet been announced.

The game has received some critical acclaim and good previews after the E3 concluded this year. Could this be the Limbo for the PS3?

Best played online as the developers have told in some interview. Wish we could do some online co-op.
I thought it was the âbandâ when I saw the thread title.
What makes them to make such kind of boring games.

Youâve got to play games like this one, Flow, Limbo etc. to realise what makes it different from the usual crop.
How about hitting Youtube and checking out some videos?
Dinjo: Welcome back!

And quan chi, from the above article, this excerpt is for you:
Journey will not be for everyoneââŹâ˘s taste: donââŹâ˘t just expect the lot who play just Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto or FIFA to suddenly find interest in a game like this. The target audience is definitely those who want an innovative experience over shoot shoot, bang bang.
