@@Vagabond - try downloading those ebooks in Windows and using Calibre for uploading the books.

As soon you will connect it, it will take you to registration page and will prompt for downloading a software.
After you install it and complete registration at kobo site, it will update the firmware.
After registering, use Calibre.
If you use linux, you can bypass the registration process.

I do most of my reading at night and the Kindle Paperwhite was so much better at that than my Nook ST. Some chinese company needs to market a vfm eink reader with backlight to destroy the kindle/nook/kobo stranglehold.

eink manufacturer is spoiling the game, selling the screens for too high prices.
Kobo touch is available for 2000Rs at Croma, Wakad, Pune. I was told that, it’s a last piece, hence the price.
